Topic: RE: HUGE Stall
Hi Sarah, I've gone through a couple stalls and I know it can be depressing. One thing I would suggest is to look at everything your eating. Have you allowed carbs to sneak back in? Are you snacking when you shouldn't be? My DR doesn't want us drinking protein drinks after the first month, they say it slows your metabolism down because your body doesn't have to work as hard to break it down. I know not all DR's agree, but if I feel I need more protein I eat a protein bar, the DR likes this better because the body has to work to digest and use it. We've all entered the phase when our bodies are starting to figure out how to work right again, so the weight isn't not going to be falling off like it once was, your naturally going to slow down. Don't be a slave to the scale and don't let it stress you out, just go back to basics. Jan

I'm with ya, Sarah. I use Fitday to keep track of my food and exercise so I can go back and really see what I can fix or adjust. To keep my sanity and positivity, I measure my inches once a month, that helps a ton, because at least I'm still losing there. Thanks for posting this because I just checked my FitDay and I guess because I don't lose any major numbers per week, maybe 1, if I'm lucky. But according to my chart, I've lost 11 pounds in the last 2 months. It's not as good as some, but hey I'm still losing! Let us know about your measurements!!! It will get better! Amber

Topic: HUGE Stall
Good morning all, I have a big problem!! I have been at a stall for like 2 months!! I am at a total loss. I had to have my gallbladder out, so I wan't able to exercise for like 2 1/2 weks, but that doesn't explain the stall. Am I done losing?! I've only lost 102 lbs, I know that is a great amount but I still need to lose like 50 more lbs!! I am still doing 1-2 protien drinks a day, to make sure I get all of my protien in, which is ok by my surgeon, and I don't feel like I am over eating at all!! Help please, I am so stressed out here!! Thanks, Sarah

Topic: I found myself crying
I found myself crying in a dressing room last night. I had extra time before a class so I stopped to look at clothes and see what size I'm in now. I started at a size 32 top and bottom. For giggles I grabbed a 14/16 top and a 22 dress pant. THEY FIT!!! The top was a little snug in the breasts and you could see my tummy roll. I could get it on with out having it get stuck on my head and the arms weren't snug. And the pants no problem I could zip them up without having to hold my breath or lay on the floor, not that I would do that in a dressing room, have at home though. I was so happy I had to buy them. I showed hubby the sizes when I got home and he almost dropped the dish he was carrying. This morning I asked hubby how I looked (not in the clothes I bought they would be too cold in this weather) and he tells me that before I asked he was admiring my figure, I getting curves he told me. highest: 377 surgery: 359 now: 263

Topic: RE: Mondays Weekly Questions
1. How has and does overeating affect my life not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well? Overeating has controlled my life on all levels until now, I would eat and be happy for all of about a minute and then be miserable because I hated how I looked and how I felt and I just couldn't stand that I didn't or couldn't control myself. 2. Have I excelled at my job or just gotten by? How has wt and overeating gotten in the way of doing my job? I like my job for the most part and put 100% into it. My wt has been an issue because of all my back problem and that of course affected my job and all the time I had off because of my back surgery. 3. What has it been like living with me at home being overweight, dieting and now losing wt? At home before wls I was alway tired, never felt like doing anything with my girls and had no self esteam to want to go anywere with them because I felt like I would embarrase them. And it seemed I was always on a diet, but would "get off" for this meal and I was teaching my children my bad eating habits and my excuses. 4. Has chronic unhappiness over my eating problems affected my friendships? How? I think yes, because again, I never wanted to go anywere because I felt I was an embarresment to anyone I was with. 5. How has it affected my marriage? I am not married but have been dating the same man for almost 11 years and it is the Same as with my friends but worse because I was so hard on him, I had no self esteem and felt like he could do so much better than me, and when we would go out, I would look at other women and make stupid comment like that, "you should find someone like her" or "don't you think you could do better" and of course he always stood by me and made me feel like I was the beautiful one. He has been Wonderful and I love him for all the support and encouragement he has given me through all the diets, my ups and downs and now my wls. Thanks Mariah and Amber for doing these weekly posts, they are wonderful!! Lynette

How much weight did you lose? Total loss? 1 pound I think, total loss 89 lbs 4. What was your biggest challenge? Not "grazing" while at work, and not eating to many carbs. 5. Name one thing you were not prepared for? How did you deal with it? Being Lactose intolorant.... I Love milk and since surgery I can't have it with out getting seriously sick. Still try to deal with it. *Fun bonus question: You get to live as one celebrity for a day, who would it be? why? None that I can think of, It would be fun to have their money and not to worry about that for a while.
