Topic: RE: It's back...a couple days late! Friday Five!!!
1. What types of food did you eat this week? Turkey pepperoni, roast beef, chicken, salad, apples, grapes, peaches, protein bars, frozen dinners. 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? circuit training and walking 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? 0 this week 110 total since surgery (136 total) 4. Have you made goal yet? Yes 5. What do you think you need to improve on the most? Not snacking at night. I want to eat from the time I come home until I go to bed. *Fun bonus question: It's almost Independence Day, what is one thing you are so grateful for? My weight loss. I've been fat all my life and being at goal was always a distant dream for me. I'm there now and I'm going to do my best to keep it off!

Hey guys, I'm keeping this as honest as I can get. I need to be accountable and maybe seeing it in black and white will make the difference. I didn't want to be one of those people that took advantage of the surgery and didn't change their lifestyles completely. I'm catching myself doing it a little bit now and its gotta stop!!! 1. What types of food did you eat this week? I ate a few ounces of Sloppy Joes & tator tots for dinner last night, if that's any indication of where I'm at. I still drink my protein drinks or add protein to my Smoothies. I also made non-alcoholic Sangria with Crystal Light Peach Tea, added Strawberries and manadrin oranges. It was sooooooo good. I've been eating like crapola. 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? The only thing I've done is walked at lunch for 30 minutes and walking about night for about 25 minutes. My goal is to walk longer and faster. 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? I think I'm down 2 pounds, but it was my period week. Blah. 4. Have you made goal yet? I made my surgeon's goal and he said I looked great at 180ish. I want to be 179. Right now I'm sitting at 189-190. I wanna get rid of the excess. Once I do, I'm getting my plastics consulation as a reward. 5. What do you think you need to improve on the most? Getting motivated, I gotta exercise. I noted that I can eat more "crap" and be okay, as long as I"m exercising. I'm lucky I haven't gained anymore than I have. *Fun bonus question: It's almost Independence Day, what is one thing you are so grateful for? The freedom to make my own decisions! Oh, and Starbucks, hahaha! Amber

Hey girlie, I thought about you the other day because I was going to make a trip to take my son to TN and we were going to drive by your area. I think we are going the other route through NC now though, otherwise I was going to stop and get a hotel in your area and see if you want to have dinner! If things change, I'll let you know. I can't believe you're divorced already! Wow. Mine isn't even final yet. That's my fault though, just haven't been able to really afford to file the papers. I need to get on it. I'm actually gonna see if he'll do it since he's not paying for anything anymore. Yeah, lets get motivated! Once you hit Onderland you'll start freakin' out, haha! It will work. Its just amazing. I gotta kick these 10 pounds now. I'm going walking tonight, A

It's my surgery twin!!! How are you girlie?! I had a feeling we'd start to see some activity over here! So good to hear from you! I started at 361 and am down to 200-204....darn if I can't get below 200 yet! I know it's my lack of exercise (do they have a surgery for that?!....yes Dr., I'd like to have the exercise bug implanted please!). I'm trying to train for a 5K run this fall, so I'm using that as motivation to get my bum in gear. It's great to see others checking in...I'd certainly try to post to a weekly type accountability thing if it was going on.... Christina R (yep, R, not S....divorce was final May 29th).

Sandra- Sorry I can't help...I'd say get yourself to a regular doctor if nothing else. Out innards are nothing to mess around with. Christina R

Topic: terrible stomach/abdominal bloat and cramping for the last 2 weeks.
Hi, I've been having bloat and abdominal cramps lately. Has anyone else experienced this. I had my surgery 7/25/06. I have not been back to my surgeon because he no longer accepts my insurance. I have had to take zantac daily since the surgery. But now it has gone to a whole new level. Does anyone know what the symptoms are for a stomach leak? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, S.G.

Howdy Karen, Congrats on the job and the joyfull turn in life! I was at 335 heaviest and 315 pre-op am now 147, at 5'5 I'm sitting near the top of the scale of healthy BMI weight, but I've always been curvy and I know I'm carrying at least a few pounds excess skin. I get scared of getting too skinny, and am going to consult a doctor next week (after my PS consult) to find out what I'm gonna do next. It's amazing what can happen in (almost) two years. Back then I would never have considered walking all day, riding a roller coaster, a horse, turning heads when I walked into a room (in a good way) or half of the other things I've achieved lately! I'm so happy for you, and for anyone else who is a continued sucess!

Hi Amber- So good to hear from you again! Boyfriend huh ... good for you! You know I'd be right there with the Friday Five, I loved it! I started this journey weighing 374 and on a good day I'm down 200 pounds, but most days it's between 194-197 lost. I weigh in usual around 177. Never in my life thought I'd fit into a size 12 pair of levi's but I do. Started off in a tight size 34 womans jeans. I'm getting ready to have a hysterectomy on July 1st and the one thing that scares the crap out of me is I've heard people tend to gain afterward. OK, well that and the thought of another IV ... damn it, I hate IV's! Happy 2 year surgiversary to all of you! It's been a rough road but one I'd travel again! Jan

You'll get there Ree Ree, it just takes a whole lotta patiences thats for sure. I'm very pleased with the way that it happened for me. I see a lot of people that loose it so fast and they almost look sick. I'm glad its taken me longer than others to get there. I don't have a huge amount of sick problems either. One area, but that'll be taken care of in time as well. PATIENCE, hahaha! We'll get each other motivated and sticking to our guns soon enough! A
