Topic: New pics from Bariatric Fashion Show, 3/24/07
Hi Everybody,
The fashion show was a blast! Even until the night before, I was pondering about canceling out, I'm so glad I didn't! It's so hard for me to be the center of attention in a room, when I've spent years trying to enter as quietly as possible trying not to be noticed. Anyway, it was great.
Check out the new pics on my profile!

Topic: RE: Friday Five - Weekly Update!
1. What types of food did you eat this week? turkey burger, turkey chili, salad, chicken salad, tuna salad, pork tenderloin, etc.
2. What types of exercise did you do this week? walking, jogging (twice), some hand weights.
3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? lost a couple more pounds, down 102 pounds now! Only three pounds until I'm in "onederland."
4. What was your biggest challenge? finding time to exercise, as it was an extraordinarily busy week, with two friends in the hospital for WLS, inheriting two more boys for three days, etc.
5. Have you discovered any type of new food, supplement, or exercise product to recommend? I enjoy the new Quaker mini rice cakes in the small 90 calorie packs...the ones with the fudge drizzle on them are great. It's kind of a wasted 90 calories, so I won't buy them regularly, but it was a nice treat.
*Fun bonus question:
Now that you are losing weight, what is one thing that you want to accomplish that you couldn't do before the surgery? Wow, there are so many to choose from; I'll pick a fun one...I want to be able to wear high heels again, which I haven't worn in years! I would love some sexy shoes!

Topic: RE: Calories????
Aloha Becky....I don't come into this forum very often...I'm always in the "Over Fifty Forum," but I decided to check in and saw your post. We had surgery on the exact same day....July 26, 2006!! AND, I'm also 5'11" tall. A couple of big coincidences, I think.
At almost eight months out, I really think you are not eating enough, Becky. I have had a few stalls and every time I added another protein shake, some peanuts, or some cottage cheese salad I would begin to lose again. My daily intake is around 900 to 1100 calories. I have lost 87 lbs. and went 319 to 232 as of this morning. We are very close, but I think you will begin dropping again if you would add a couple hundred calories of protein each day. You exercise more than I do, too! I am going to Shapes 3 times a week, and I try to get to the pool at least once a week, sometimes twice.
Thanks for sharing your progress, and I wish you total success in getting off the last 60 lbs. I ALSO want to lose anothe 60!!
Aloha nui loa,
KarenS
