Always thinking about it. In Feb. our support group had a PS surgeon come in and talk to us. He said he commends 12 months and maintaining a weightloss plus at least 100 pounds down. I asked about having breast surgery and he said that if you have it too early you can still lose weight in them. This could cause uneven sizing or sinking in in spots (deforming). I almost cried. I think I can handle not having a tummy tuck for awhile but I'd like a breast lift. Plus insurance won't pay unless there is a major problem, so have to save save save.

I've considered it in my mind, but I was told to wait to 18 months, then you'd pretty much be maintaining from that point. I'm not done losing, I'm actually getting farther and farther behind. I'm hoping to switch it up soon. I figured I've waited over 10 years to lose all this weight, I can wait 8 more to get plastic surgery. I doubt I'll be able to afford it by then anyway! Let us know what happens!

*Fun bonus question:
What's the least amount of money you would take to eat one of those nasty Madagascar hissing ****roaches?
Have a good weekend, All!

I'm also considering having some work done. I will probably wait to see if things work out with my hubby first though (if they do we'll likely have kids...no use getting PS before that!). BUT, I've also heard that you need to have maintained your weight for 6 months before they'll consider you....so since I'm losing at a decent clip (10ish pounds a month), I'll have to wait anyway.
Best to you though....

Considering, but haven't done anything yet. I was told until your loosing less than 10 pounds a month not to go ... I'm still averaging 10 or more.
Waiting for your 1 year follow-up might be good, you can talk to your DR and see who/what they recommend.

I have a consult in June but am thinking I may reschedule until after I meet with my Bariatric Surgeon. I'm HOPING my insurance will consider paying. I've lost 115 and just want to look like I feel.

I know when we go away I don't think about eating as much, and I don't tend to snack.
Congratulations!

Topic: Need more weekends away
Why is it I go away for a weekend and end up losing the weight. I've been on a plateau for months. We went away 2 weekends ago and lost 3 pounds went camping this weekend and lost 3 more. It most be stress related.

surgery: 359
Today: 253
Total lost 124

Topic: RE: 10 MONTH ANNIVERSERY
Pamela,
We've had some challenges here on the homefront too. My DH started dialysis in mid-February after several years of staving it off. The kidneys just finally went. So, we've been focusing on getting him into that routine and ultimately on the transfer list. He's lost about 90+ lbs strictly by portion control since my own surgery. Luckily his kidney disease is the type that responds very, very well to transplant. We're hopeful and keeping our sense of humor about it all. And when we can't keep smiling, we just hold on to each other.
There's less of me to hold on to, no doubt about that
. Between his loss (-90+) and mine (-164 lbs and counting), we've lost a linebacker
. My surgeon and I never set a goal for losing, except my notion that I wanted to be in the normal BMI range for the first time since Jimmy Carter was president. My surgeon is thrilled where I am now: I'm officially out of the OBESE BMI category and just entered the OVERWEIGHT category. I've got another 30-35 lbs to lose, I think, before I hit that self-imposed mark. We'll see. I feel better certainly and I've re-energized my exercise program.
As for plastics, yep...I've looked into it. My arms particularly. LOL, I could fly with these here bat-wings, I'm telling you! We're thinking "baby" though in the next 12-15 months, so anything in the way of body sculpting will have to wait until either the kid (or the kidneys) arrive.
I don't post much but I do read up on all the doings of my fellow July 06ers. Congratulations to all of us and let's keep at it.
