Topic: RE: Surgiversary Weight Loss - Post Here!!
Today is my Surgiversary and I am down 105 lbs. This surgery has given me my life back. I went into surgery at 320 lbs with diabetes and high blood pressure, on my way to knee and joint problems. I have not taken any medication for diabetes or high blood pressure since I came out of surgery. I have much more energy and have managed to accomplish many of my personal goals: 1. No longer need a belt extension on the plane 2. Can now shop at regular stores 3. I can run again 4. Not the largest person in the room 5. Wear high healed shoes 6. Walk and not get out of breathe 7. Can sit at a booth in a restaurant and not have my stomach and breast on the table 8. Feel pretty and sexy 9. No longer take diabetes or blood pressure medicine 10. Can close the gown at the doctors office I am so blessed that i don't have alot of hanging skin because I have been working with a personal trainer 3 x a week. I am sure I would have lost alot more weight, but I am gaining muscle which is why the scale isn't moving. But everyday someone is telling me how good I look and how I am still losing weight and I see it in my clothes. My trainer says I am losing inches which is good. My goal is to lose 40 more lbs. which will put me at 180 lbs. Although the experts say I should be between 150 and 168, that is a bit too small for me. I will be satisfied at 180 lbs. if I keep toning and working out. My next goals are ( not necessarily in this order): 1. Get under 200 lbs. 2. Wear Victoria Secret underwear 3. Lose 40 lbs. 4. Get married 5. Have a baby 6. Start my business 7. Take boxing lessons 8. Take belly dancing lessons 9. Get teeth fixed 10. Be more consistent with vitamins and water intake Thanks for sharing your stories on this site because it helps when you get discouraged from slow weight loss. To know that I am not in this alone makes this journey alot easier. I can share experiences with you when I can't share them with close friends and family. No one knows how it really feels to lose 105 lbs unless they have done it themselves. No one knows why the little accomplishments mean so much if the have never been 320 lbs. I celebrate my surgiversary today thanking God for the tool that He used to save my life!!! I will NEVER turn back!!!

Well, here it is, one year ago today my life changed, and boy oh boy was it for the better! Yesterday was my one year checkup and the Dr couldn't have been happier. The only thing I have low is my calcium so I'll be taking more each day along with trying to add veggies and cheese high in calcium to my daily eating. As of today I'm down 182 pounds! Jan

WOW! I had my surgery 1 year ago yesterday and I am only down 30 pounds. For months now I have been cheating and unable to stay on track. I can eat what I want when I want and I do. I don't understand why I sabotage so bad. I am so happy that it worked for you.
