Don't be afraid to "bother" your doctor.... they have office staff which can help too NP or RN.
I am 7 weeks out. At 4 weeks I had pain in my left side. It was very uncomfortable like the worst muscle strain. My doc told me the left side is where all the major work was done and where they cut through the muscle. She said since I was healing I was feeling the discomfort. This lasted until week 6 for me. Now, most days I can't believe I ever had surgery. I used a lot of pillows and slept mostly on my right side. Hang in there!

Topic: RE: July Surgery babies- how much do you eat?
I got the OK yesterday to eat anything I can tolerate. I've tried a bunch of different things - pork chops, chicken, salmon, tuna, turkey, ham, egg salad, steak, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, yogurt, and string cheese.Veggies and fruits I have no problems with at all. I'm loving watermelon right now! So far the only thing that doesn't sit well is beef.
I'm only eating 2-3 ounces per meal. Yesterday I was told no more protein drinks. That's going to be hard!

Hi Di -
As of yesterday I've lost 48lb. I'm thrilled, but I can tell you if it would have been 20lb I be just as happy!
You're doing wonderful and 38lb is nothing to sneeze at ... when would you ever have lost so much in such a short time before surgery?
Keep up the great work!
Janet
Topic: One Month Update...10 Days Late...
Hi all-
I forgot to post my one-month results, so for those that are interested, here they are...
As of August 19 (One month):
Weight Loss: 26 lbs
Measurements:
Neck: -.25 inch
Upperarms: -1.5 inches
Wrist: -.5 inch
Bust: -1.25 inch, under -3.5 inches
Waist: -2.5 inches
Hips: -1 inch
Thighs: 2.5 inches
Calves: -1.75 inches
Ankles: -.5 inch
Some of the measurements seem a little unreal (like the bust!). My mom took the first set (in July) and my hubby took the second set (in August), so that may be a reason why a few are a little skewed. My mom sews and knows how to take measurements, my hubby is learning.
I'm still struggling to remember to take all my vitamins and get in all my protein, but I'm doing much better than I was a few weeks ago, so there is hope! I've also seemed to get past the worst of the depression phase (*phew!*). I still have my mood swings (like a flying trapeze artist at times!), but they're getting easier to control and/or my hubby is learning how to handle them better too!
Anyway...that's the update. I'm only going to post these kinds of things monthly....more than that would be overwhelming for me. BUT...I will "bait" you with the fact that I know I've lost a few more pounds since this update and my clothes are getting looser (ok, really just fitting like they were originally intended too!).
