Ok, maybe I'm not doing the math right but from your starting point to now I get 38lb. you've got to count it all, and give yourself credit for every pound gone! I had lap RNY, was in the hospital less than 24 hours, and back to work, but tired, after a week and a half (4 hours a day). I'm very happy to say as of this morning I'm now down 50lbs! It just amazes me. Janet

Thanks all! I am back from my doctor and it seems I am right on target with my eating. He did warn me about 'Smooth Move' tea (which I took ONCE and I LOVED the results) - so I can't depend on that to 'move me' anymore......

Hi Heather I am in exactly the same boat as you! But for some reason, today I feel more upbeat and less frustrated and depressed. Maybe that means the scale will be moving soon ~crosses her fingers~ On the protein drink, when I use one I count it as both, snack AND fluid. After all, it IS both, right? Hang in there, we are at the famous first stall . . . Jezia

Tina, I don't get when people say they are discouraged?? What were you expecting? You've lost 32lb! That's amazing! It's gone forever! When before surgery could you have done that in such a short amount of time? Don't be discouraged, be very proud of yourself! I think the reason I'm loosing a bit more than others is due to a couple things - I have much more weight to lose and I developed a stricture, anything that went down for a whole week made me sick. It was no fun at all, in fact I have to go back in the hospital Friday for another endoscopy. My Doctor told me as of Monday that I'm no longer to drink protein drinks, I need to get it all from food. They have found that after 4 weeks of protein drinks your body tends to become lazy it doesn't have to work to break down liquids like it does with food, and your metabolism slows down. It's hard but I'm making sure I'm getting lots of fluids and as much protein as possible. Best wishes to you, Janet

Hi i had mine on the 17th too I went in weighing 271 and I am down to 239. I personally am very discouraged. I feel I am doing everything by the book and nothing is working. I'm down 32 lbs and that is great but its not moving. Good luck Tina

Topic: Protein drink question
Hi, I had my surgery on 7/19. I lost 27 pounds in the first few weeks and since then I've been on a stall that has officially lasted 3 weeks now. I'm getting very frustrated. I get in all my protein, I was told to up my calories, carbs and fat because my levels were too low - go figure that LOL!!!. My question is about protein drinks. I use a powder that I mix with 6 oz of water. Would this count as a snack or fluid? Would I then have to have another snack? Thanks. Heather

1. I have lost 30 lbs. 2. I walk 6 days a week , I am up to 2 1/2 miles each time. 3.No complications, just some vomiting when I eat too fast. 4.50-70 grams per day 5. about 64 oz. a day 6. ususally cream of wheat or eggbeaters for breakfast , turkey and cheese rollups for lunch, sometimes soup, usually fish for dinner with tomato and cuke, or 1/2 a small potato, chicken(dark Meat goes down well) . sometimes a sugar free popsicle or a piece of fruit, I have tried watermelon(yummy) and 1/2 of a peach. tried pot roast one night, it came right back up.
