Topic: RE: July 17th date
I had my surger on July 17th and I am down 39 lbs. I feel like I am working so hard and I hit plateaus for at least 2 weeks after every 5lbs. loss. I must admitt I do get discouraged, but I can tell in my clothes that I am losing. Down from size 30/32 to 24/26. Twenty-fours are big in the legs, but tight in the abdomen. I am having the hardest time losing the stomach. People say they can tell I'm losing, I just thought it would be allot faster. I geuss when I think of having had major surgery, I want the weight to come off the next day. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for what I have lost so far, because I know longer take blood pressure medicine or diabetes meds. I do a two hour work out 3 days a week, water aerobics, cardio treadmill and weights. I am gaining muscle, but don't feel like I"m losing fat, quick enough for the effort. I geuss this is a lesson in patience. I failed at traditional weight loss plans because I would get discouraged that the scale didn't move. I have gone through too much to give up. Off to the gym tomorrow...........

Topic: RE: Need breakfast ideas
Hi Deb, 2 months out today...try turkey bacon, it is actually good. and quiche(sp) with eggs, cheese and whatever else you can throw in that you like. I cant eat a whole slice only maybe a half of it, but my tummy is having problems. I got freezer bags and froze them, now I get up and pop it in the microwave and breakfast. My doctor is not an advocate for drinking your protein so I have had a lot of time to experiment. Also, pb on whole wheat or low fat ritz or wheat crackers. I don't use low fat bc I don't like it, but I only use a small amount. Hope this helps.

Topic: RE: Friday Five - weekly update
hi, 1. What types of food did you eat this week? eggs, low fat deli ham, cheese, vegan pretzel nuggets, fat free ritz w/pb, whole wheat w/pb, tuna fish(albacore, cant seem to stomach the others anymore) 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? Walking in the park, only 1 mile, Walmart, and Walk Away the Pounds 2 mile (3 days total) need to do more. 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? 5 pounds/48 pounds 4. What was your biggest challenge? To eat and to excercise some, I am still in a lot of pain and need more surgery. 5. What is one thing that you would tell a Pre-Op? Don't have pre-conceived expectations of the surgery or recovery based on others, everyone is different. *Fun bonus question: What is your favorite "driving" song? My CD player is broken, it spits out my CD *frown* so I flip though until I find something that fits my mood...which changes from moment to moment these days Be well all! Keep up the good work!

Topic: RE: 1 Pound in 2 weeks? RIPOFF!
Hey there Linda, I know how you feel, I am a little early than you July 10th and for some reason about a month to six weeks out, I just stopped losing, I would gain a pound lose a pound lose two gain two back and I hovered at about 260 or so, then it started again. I don't know how true it is, but I was told that sometimes we hover around the weight our body is use to while it adjusts and then we lose again...works for me. I did notice that I was losing inches though so measure yourself once a week or two weeks and I'll bet you will notice a change. Way to go on your weight loss!
