Topic: Anyone else have difficulty w/ ground meat
So, early on in the soft foods phase I was able to eat ground meat w/ no issue. I either had very lean beef, venison or ground turkey. It was not a problem at all. However, the last few times I've had ground venison it basically bounces right back out. Anyone else have this problem or have foods that they were able to eat and then couldn't.

I'm down 39 lbs as well. I went several weeks with a stall and in the past 2 I've dropped 7lbs.
It's hard to see the scale stop moving when it was moving so fast early on.
We'll get there!!

Include me in for July 25. I feel like I'm doing great but I'm having trouble getting in all of my protein. Had a two week stall but I increased my calories some and weight started to come off again, not as fast as it was right after surgery but it's going. I have to admit except for a few sudden movements right after surgery I didn't have much pain at all, actually I still have like 80% of my pain meds left. As of yesterday I have lost 38 pounds since surgery and an additional 18 pounds for the pre-op diet the month before giving me a total of 56 pounds. YEAH!!!!
Topic: -60 pounds!
Today is my 8 weeks post-op day and I'm down 60lbs! I can't believe how fast it's gone.
Last week was the worst week since surgery, for some reson I was very depressed, but everyone did there best this weekend to get me out of that, and it seemed to work. I went out with girlfreinds Saturday morning for breakfast, then my brother and his family came over. Yesterday my Mom took me shopping for a few new clothes items, and then we went out to lunch.
My DH has been so worried about me that I sent him away with friends for the weekend. He had a great time, but still called a lot to check on me.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

I'm also a July 25ther!
How am I doing? Pretty well. I still struggle to get in all my protein since the protein shake I was using now makes me vomit. I am very close to being able to get all the 60grams a day through food. I am also still working on getting all the fluid in all the time. Some days are better than others.
What's my food intake now-- I'm being extremely cautious right now, but I do allow myself two pieces of sugar free candy every day as a snack. You all must try the sugar free York Peppermint Patties-- they taste EXACTLY like the real thing. Rght now Im really big on Wendy's Chili and Papa John's Chicken Strips (they are great tasting and very tender!). Last week I was craving a Schlotzky veggie sandwich, so I bought one and cut it up. I was able to eat a bit of it over two days with no problems. Since Im working on protein, though, I haven't had another-- the craving was gone once I had a bit.
How much have I lost? I weighed 235 on surgery day (I stand 4'11.5"). This morning I weighed in at 209. So a loss of 26 pounds so far. I am ecstatic, because my goal for October 1st was to be 205 pounds. Looks like I may even get close to Onderland! I am glad that I understood that my weightloss will not be as dramatic as the average WLS patient since I have less to lose. Otherwise I would be disappointed.
Attitude towards surgery-- I do not regret a thing! I do miss sodas still, but I knew that would happen. hehehe
I honestly believe that we are all WLS patients at the perfect time-- there are so many products out there that we can have and not feel deprived.

I can eat most anything, but I do really well with seafood, i.e., fish, shrimp, crab. I also to very well with eggs and chilli. I have to chew chicken forever in order to get it down, and most times it isn't worth it. The only bread I eat is soft flour tortilla or pita bread and that is not often. The soft foods are still good, cottage cheese or yogurt for breakfast. The thing I love the most is sugar free popsicles. They are my best friend. I try to drink at least one to two protein drinks a day, usually slim fast low carb or atkins and I munch on a protein bar especially after I workout. That's my routine......
Let's hang in there.....it's journey, not a destination

Hi there Michele,
I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. I feel like I don't eat anything and the weight should be coming off so much faster. I haven't lost ANY weight this week. It is SO discouraging isn't it. I feel sometimes like it is just one more thing that isn't going to work for me. But, I try so hard not to feel that way. I work out 3 to 4 times a week as well. What kinds of things are you eating? I couldn't make my appointment for the phase 4 diet so I am still eating simple foods. Except I have added jerky. That goes down really well for me I just have to chew it FOREVER! LOL Keep me posted on how you are doing. I don't know anyone else who is around the same time as me so it is hard to ask them questions. Most people don't "remember" since they are farther out then me. Thanks so much. Good luck to you!
