Yeah. I go on the Cali board and they have a ton of people in your area. It seems like they constantly have some event going on, and for each other. It would be nice to have that closer to home. Maybe I can rally up some troops.

Here are 2 easy, high protein recipes for you. They're my favorites. Beef stroganoff: 2lbs uncooked stew meat(I use venison b/c the hubby is an avid hunter) 2 lg cans cream of mushroom soup 1 lg can mushrooms or fresh mushrooms *Put all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low for about 8 hours. The meat cooks up nice and tender. I serve the hubby's over whole wheat noodles and I eat mine over a little instant mashed potatoes. I add sour cream to mine--hubby doesn't like it. Turkey breast: 1 Boneless/skinless turkey breast(I have used a whole small turkey in a roaster before) 2 lg cans of cream of mushroom soup *Place turkey in crock pot, pour mushroom soup in. Cover and cook 8 hour on low. I serve this w/ mashed potatoes and stuffing. Sometimes I add a packet of turkey gravy mix to the juices but most of the time it is quite flavorful and thick enough. I also have broken up the turkey and made turkey and gravy over bisquits. Both recipes freeze well after cooking too. When you thaw them, thaw completely and heat slowly so the juice doesn't separate.

I've been reading the raves of using a slow cooker so I went and bought one now the only thing is I don't really know how to use it! LOL I know that probably sounds really funny but I never used a crock pot before! I was wondering if anyone has some recipies that they would like to share.

Thats how it is here in san diego, only support groups are throuh kaiser (cost $ each week) and through my surgeon once a month. But on the cali board there are a ton of people in my area, so at least I am able to find support that way...best of luck!!!

Topic: RE: 1 Pound in 2 weeks? RIPOFF!
I think we all need to remember, especially for those of us over 40, that it didn't take us 2 months to put it all on, it will definately take us a while to lose it. Remember, at least a pound at a time is better off that back on. And keep the faith. Some weeks are better than others . I am now 2 months post-op, very sedentary and started at 305 and I am only down to 268. However I had a very bad UTI and lost some weight that week because I couldn't eat anything. So girls, lets just keep backing each other up and patting ourselves on the back for doing this. Thanks, Nancy Gillam
