Ree Ree, My exercise right now isnt consistant. I have a crazy schedule and so does my husband. His job takes him to the West Coast 4 days a week and we both work night shift. However my nights is on east coast time and his is on pacific time. I try to go to the gym 3 times a week but some weeks I only make it twice. However the 2 or 3 days a week my husband is here we spend our time going to parks and or malls and getting lots of walking in. Hes very supportive and encourages me to walk even when Im not really into it. He will even go to the gym with me when hes here. I know getting snacks in at work can be difficult...thats why I tend to eat alot of cheese sticks and profect proteins when Im at work ....Both are small and compact. At home I have the larger volume protein...like Chocolate Atkins . Try to find things that make it simple for u but keep u on the program of healthy living/loosing. Im very proud of all of us. Just think 3 months ago how much fatter the world was. We have lost thousands of lbs just by adding all of us together. Just think about how much healthier our hearts are now I think I will start a new thread on Oct 1st and then everyone will post how much they have lost on their 3 month anniversery... Each person that posts will add their wt loss to the previous total and at the end of the month we should have all posted and we can see how much all the july babys lost in 3 months....

Sandy, I can be here as long as u need me. Dont worry about how many questions u ask. I just dont usually post much becouse I figure ppl dont want to hear what I have to say. Most listen to what their Drs tell them. However, for those of u who didnt get much pre-op teaching or have questions I am always willing to help. I have some papers u can print out that might help u too. I have posted this before but u may have missed it. http://www.wlsindy.com/planphases.htm I go by the yellow pages on this site each page will give u the diet I follow at each stage of my journey. u can click on each page and they will enlarge and u can print them off. I do basicly 2 things different than what these papers suggest. I avoid the starch list as much as possible. I stick with a whole grain when I do have one such as I will have on rare occasions cream of wheat or oatmeal. I also have continued with my protein supplements....it says on here once u are eating enough protein u dont need the extra supplements....I dont agree with that from all Ive been learning so I have continued with them. I hope this helps u and anyone else who didnt get any pre op teaching or just needs some more teachin. Anything else u want to know....ASK Im glad I was able to help u

Hello my July Sisters!!!! Just to chime in. I'm getting depressed about the weight loss because it seems slow to me as well. I started out at 358 and I'm down to 302. My 3 month appointment is Oct 5 and I really wanted to be 285. I don't see this happening. I saw the dietician on last Friday and she said that I needed to get in some carbs along with fruits and vegetables because I was only eating protein...strictly protein. I try really hard to get in at least 60 gms per day but I can't hardly stand those drinks. Either they have an odor, aftertaste, or they are too sweet. I've not really been exercising consistently but I went today to sign up for gym membership. I've been walking 2 miles per day three times a week but this isn't enough. My dietician also told me that I should be getting in up to 1000 calories a day. I just can't seem to eat like that. I usually get up between 5:30-6:00 a.m. and I'm running trying to get to work by 8. I have a 7 y/o and 1 y/o. While at work, I never eat except for lunch. I envy Mariah as well. I wish I was so close to 100# lost at 3 months. I'm gonna try Mariah's plan of action. What exercises are you girls doing and how often? Good luck ladies and any suggestions are appreciated. Believe it or not.....WE'RE GONNA MAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ree Ree

Don't let me be the bear of bad news... I had surgery on May 1st...as of today I have lost about 95lbs....to break my plateau I had to eat more.....funny thing the next few days I had lost another 5 lbs...even though we have had wls our bodies still need certain food to release fat....small amount of carbs won't hurt you.....try it and see what happens...

Karen, Hang in there. My stall was for 3-1/2 weeks (week 3-1/2 to 7) and then I started to drop again. I think I lost MAYBE 2 pounds during the stall. It will happen again, just have to hang on and wait for the roller coaster to hit the top of that hill before you start back down. Michelle

Sandy, I just emailed you and I just posted a huge post to Karen that might help you. IF u have any more questions just ask. I'll see what I can do to help. We have to eat all 3 meals (2 oz protein and 1 of a veggy), get at least 2 snacks a day in(mostly protein with an occasional fruit). Get at least 64 oz of water (I really try to drink 3, 24 oz bottles of dasanti) and get a min of 75 gms of protein a day. This will not only keep our metabolism working all that protein helps to keep us from loosing our hair. If u dont keep it closer to 100 gms u will loose more hair...at least this has been what I was taught...Ive not lost any hair yet....and Im hoping not to. I was also told it starts at about 3 months out and Im almost there so Im keeping that protein up.

Jezia, I love your timeline. If u figure out how to make that goal u could be rich. I'd sure pay to be done with all this in 3 months. Ive had a really hard time with depression. I think how much I changed and how much Ive lost...and Im still a fat 300 lb woman. Its like how can this be. I dont know where my head is sometimes. I think I was just in such denile about how huge I had gotten. I still have 150 lbs to go...just to reach my goal...not what would be normal for me. Mariah
