Topic: RE: 3 Months here we come!
My 3 months will be the 17th and my follow up appt. is on the 19th.
So far I'm down 73lb. I'm hoping for at least 80-85 before my appt. 2 more pounds and I'll be one of the happiest women in the world ... I'll be in twoterville! Haven't been there for years!
Glad to hear everyone is doing so well ... and no hair loss here yet!

I'll be 3 months on the 7th. I was down 48.5lbs as of the 1st. I think I'm losing plenty fast enough though--were you a lightweight to begin with?

Wow you girls are all doing great!!! My anniversery isnt till the 12 but I'll be sure and add mine on then. It will take all month to get everyones totals on their 3 month anniversery....but I can see now it will be one amazing number.
Room total so far is 304...... who will be the next to add their wt loss in??? Well I guess no one had surgery July 4th so today might be a little slow...LOL

I had my surgery on July 12th. I do have my 3 month follow up on Monday the 9th. Im so looking forward to finding out how much Ive lost on my drs scale. Hers are usually about 9 lbs less than mine. I hope they do some blood tests. If they dont Im going to have my family dr do some. Im so curious now about how my triglycerides and cholesterol are doing.
I havent had any hair loss yet. Has anyone had any....Im so worried that will happen. Ive been told it usually starts at 3-4 months out. I got my very long hair cut very short so when it starts happening it wont be so noticable.

Karen: The body will adjust to starvation, eating, wellness, stress and EXERCISE by burning fat!!
You need to MOVE to LOSE.... you need to move more and shake it up by changing the way you exercise... spurts of energy in a run or walk... wall pushups between all weight resistance training... weight training if you are not doing it already...when you lift weights in conjunction with aerobic exercise you burn about 45 calories an hour for the entire day after the exercise has stopped besides the amount you burned during the exercises.
PROTEIN in excess can hurt your kidneys. PROTEIN used as a building block for the amino acids and build muscle tissue, which weighs more than fat, will make your body tone and melt ... the scale is not always the only barometer of how successful you are doing at WLS.
Lastly, take if from someone who knows, if you are eating CLEAN and MOVING and maintaining good sleep habits, drinking water and taking care of you.... you will lose the excess weight... FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION... A sluggish metabolic rate is slower but still burns fat for fuel when there is nothing else to burn.
I am 58 years old and considered a light-weight when I had the surgery on 7/19 at 222 lbs. I have lost 50 lbs. to-date. I attribute it all to EXERCISE and eating in good health every day. I have never challenged the pouch nor have I gone back to any bad habits... NOR WILL I EVER! I intend to eat CLEAN, EXERCISE & MOVE, and live a long life with a healthy, strong body. The number on the scale and the size of my clothes are just an added bonus. Think of yourself like a work-in-progress. This is your journey, not a destination. You will be great... YOU ARE A WINNER ALREADY! Best of luck, ShelleyAnne
