Hi, I had surgery on July 26 also! I have lost 36 pounds since surgery and 42 since my first dr's visit. I haven't had many problems with food, thank God. I didn't lose any weight this week from Tuesday till today, when I was 1 pound down. I am having problems with my iron, tho. I'm on suppliments, so this will improve soon! Take care and lets all hope we have great reports from our drs! Best wishes, Nonnie

1. What types of food did you eat this week? This week I tried new things and some of the same olds, Chicken, lean beef, pb toast, total cereal, low fat chex mix, salads, with ranch, chicken tortilla soup, tomatoes. 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? This week was a bad one for exercise, only one day of callinetics. I agree, just imagine how much more I could of lose if I had put more time and effort into exercise...will try harder next week 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? weighed this morning, for the week 4 pounds ... Total 43 with weight loss pre surgery. 4. What was your biggest challenge? exercise, I have more energy but not enough time in a day. 5. How much has your BMI changed? 41 to 33!!!! *Fun bonus question: If applicable, what was your first WOW moment? If not, what is the best compliment you've received so far? Today.....Hit my first goal....under 200 , when I stepped on the scale this morning I was shocked....199....yeah me...although its 2 lbs differnt at the docs office but still, Great feeling!!!

Topic: RE: Whats a good rule of thumb for carbs a day?
it varies from nutritionist to nutritionist - i try for no more than 30% of my cal from carbs (which means about 60 grams) but some days i hit 35%.... i'm happy when i can get to 25%.

Thank you all for sharing, it has helped me to know that I am pretty average. Maybe I am just too impatient or rather just worried that all of a suden one day the scale will go in reverse and start going back up.

Hello, It's three months today and I've lost 67lbs since surgery! So 666 + 67 = 733. Wow!! We are really big losers huh?!!!! I've had a fun time going into the depths of my closet for the smaller sizes that I haven't seen in many, many, many years! Take care, Sue

Hey Amber- What kind of hot dogs do you buy? I had half of a beef frank at Six Flags this past weekend and thought "Oh...I could get used to eating these" Also, how was the pasta? I've been afraid to do too much of that for fear of it getting too gummy in the tummy. I'm finding my self in such a food rut right now. I went through a period where nothing would set right and I'd :puke: not fun. So, I went back to basics but now am getting bored with it again. I have at least tried salads...so that's been nice, although sometimes it works better than others. ANYWAY, my main question was about the hot dogs. I'm assuming you're not eating them on a bun, but if you are...tips please! Christina S

I must say that I understand how you feel because I too had unreal expectations. However I had to realize that even if I only lost 1 pound it was better than gaining a pound. When I began looking at it that way I was happier about the small accomplishemts I made. God bless you and be encouraged!

Aloha WLS sister! Well, now there are at least three of us stuck at the same place after having surgery at the same time. Maybe it isn't just me who is a slow loser after all. I feel happy for the people who lose so much faster, but it also is discouraging when we are doing all the right things and the pounds just hang on. I think I need to add more exercise, too, as you have. I am thinking of signing up at Curves, but it's a little on the expensive side. Good idea about the free weights....I will get some of those, too. Thanks so much for your words of support.....we need to stick together and help each other through this! Aloha nui loa, KarenS
