Topic: RE: Weeding the Closet.... Help
I am right there with you. I feel like I"m platuaed once again (seems to happen monthly lately). I'm completely afraid that I will be tossing out something that I can not afford to replace. I just wish I could get over this little hump and move the stuff out of the closet! But my head says, STOP you will need those...
I just hope my stomach/pouch help me to not need them again.
Thanks!

I must be an odd one! I had no problems going through the cloest and getting rid of everything that was too big! I ended up giving away 2 huge bags of really nice clothes to a friend of a friend. I was thinking about selling it on ebay, but then thought it would be better to help someone out that really needed clothes.
I have less than a half a closet full, and I just so happy I'll never be wearing that huge stuff again!

Hello everyone.
My surgery was July 11th and to date I have lost 61 pounds.
So our running total is 733+61=794 pounds!!!!!
Way to go everyone.

Topic: RE: Friday Five - Weekly Update!
Oscar Meyer has some low fat turkey dogs. They are really quite good. I don't eat them on a bun. I barely eat bread. When I do, its toast on the way to work in the morning. I either eat the hotdog with mustard (nothing in that) or I will put it in some chili. That's yummy!!! As far as the pasta goes, I don't eat that much of it. I just like a little taste every now and then. I did buy the Barilla Plus though, so that when I do eat it, at least it will be high in protein. My stomach seems to be holding out really well. I've only had that one incident. It scares me, I'm worried about stretching my pouch too far. I've got my three month post op on the 20th, hopefully I'll get good news!!!
Hope you had a great weekend,
Amber

Tiff-
I struggled with giving away certian items...things like the dress I wore to my rehearsal dinner, that suit I never really got to wear, or that dress that looked really good on me. BUT, when it came down to it, I knew I'd never wear them again...and we really don't have the room to store them forever (just in case).
I'm fairly lucky in that I've saved a bunch of clothes from my "smaller days" and can easily remove something and have something "new" to replace it with without buying it. I quit buying new clothes almost a year ago (when my journey started), so I'm really looking forward to the "new" and the "new again".
I hear ya though...my closet is starting to be smaller than my hubby's side....so I started hanging more instead of folding (more for my mental state of "look I still have things to wear than to "compete with him").
Best to you....when you're ready you'll pass them along.

I was the same way until yesterday. I live in Indiana and the message board for our state has a clothing exchange every three months. So I went and took in all my 4x and larger...about 3 bags full. I came home with 3 bags of clothes that were 2 and 3x and about 5 jackets and coats. Im so looking forward to the next one now.
Its so nice to give things to fellow losers that like yourself are going thru clothes so fast and doesnt want to waste alot of money on things u can only wear a few months. One lady yesterday even told me how funny it is to bring something one month and someone takes it ...then see it back in 3-6 months and someone new is getting it.
I think one reason we all have such a hard time besides the cost involved is that for so long we lost wt only to regain it. Its hard to believe that this time its for good. That we can get rid of the clothes becouse we wont be needing them ever again.
I am going to the Lexington Convention and I have heard there is going to be a clothing exchange there. If anyone would like to bring clothes with them to give to others I can get more info on when it is and where exactly it will be. I may have a few more clothes to get rid of by then too.

Topic: Weeding the Closet.... Help
Why is this a hard step. I should be happy to remove all those clothes that are too big for me.... I've been telling myself for the past two weeks I need to do it... so WHY CAN"T I DO IT....?
Theory one: I'm cheap and refuse to give away/toss clothes that are not tattered and on their last leg (pun intended)...
Theory two: I'm afraid my side of the closet will be come smaller than my husbands and I'll have to give up the big side in defeat...
Theory three: I'm scared to death to toss out the "oh my gosh, way to big" clothes because I haven't gotten it through my head that I won't be back in them.
Let me know what you think!
Have a great week all!

Topic: RE: 3 months out and HOW MUCH HAVE U LOST
Hi All! Sorry for staying Quiet so long.... Just not feeling the weight loss I guess.
I'll be three months on the 28th and her are the stats:
Pre-Op 275
Currently 225
WITB 150 (What I want to be)
I don't know what my measurments are. I"ve not measured. But I'm wearing size 20W pants. I like big shirts, so I'm still in a 3x. But I can finally fit into my 22/24 taylored shirts with room to spare.
BUT - I'm not full anymore. I'm ALWAYS hungry. I have a feeling it is head hungar, but sometimes I can't tell. So I have a popsicle (SF).
Everyone seems to be doing great!
Take Care!
