Topic: RE: How much weight has everyone lost to date?
I started at 262 the day before surgery, which was on July 19th... a little over a week after yours. I've lost 55 lbs to date. I also know that my monthly visitor affects my weight loss. I think you and I are right on the same track and you're doing awesome!! My doc also said it depends on where we start. He said I started on the lower end and most at 3 months have lost about 35 or maybe 40. Well, yesterday was my 3 month mark and I'm at 55 so he said it's great. So, hats off to ALL of us for the hard work this is and for all of our weight loss, whatever it may be!!

Topic: RE: Lost 44lbs and still NOOOO energy
Molly,
The last couple weeks I've too been soooo tired. Prehaps you need a blood test to see if there is a vitamin defeincey. I found out I was lacking iron and vitamin C and thre P.A. added iron with added C and vit b12 to my long list of daily meds. This seemed to help.
Have you added fruit or omega oils (walnuts / almonds) to your diet yet? This worked for my constipation. The gentle laxative Colace can help too.
Don't be discouraged about your weight loss - 44 lbs is great . I had my RNY on july 10th and weighed 215lbs now I am 169lbs. (loss 46 lbs). You are considered (as I) a light weight patient and we will lose at a slower weight then a person who started at a more heavier weight and according to my surgeon the lighter weight patient will come to their goal weight faster then the heavier patients.
I am 54 yrs young - the WLS plus with me is that my hot flashes has stopped ( now I am always cold) and my pains in my back, hips and feet are a thing in the past.

1. What types of food did you eat this week? Something new? Baked Cinnamon Apples with Splenda Brown Sugar. It was yummy. I also ate poached eggs, grilled steak taco salad, cottage cheese, mixed berry smoothies, yogurt, protein balls, Cordon Bleu wrap from Tropical Smoothie, tuna cassarole, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, peas, no sugar added mint chocolate chip icecream
2. What types of exercise did you do this week? Walking and volleyball. I had plans to join Gold's Gym next month. We have a great incentive program through work. Go to the gym 36 times in 6 months and they pay you 100 dollars. I don't know if I'll be able to do it though because of the changes being made in our household.
3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? I don't remember my weigh-in from last week, but I'm down 60 pounds total, woohoo! 1 more pound over my doctor's 3 month goal.
4. What was your biggest challenge? We celebrated a lot of birthdays and bosses day at work this week, it was hard not to eat donuts, cake, and other bad stuff. But I didn't!!!
5. Are you thinking about plastic surgery yet? Yes. I know that I will have a boob job eventually. I was hoping to not need a tummy tuck, but will get one if absolutely necessary. I don't want anything else done.
*Fun bonus question:
If you could have any job you wanted, what would you do? I would be a forensic pathologist. I love that kind of work, but I don't have time to go to school for that long. I am going back to school to get my degree in criminal justice and I hope to be doing forensics somehow in the next 10 years.

1. What types of food did you eat this week?
Cheez n' Crackers, Salad w/egg, cheese and tuna, refried beans, taco, milk, peanut butter on celery...I find myself making easy choices, things I know won't make me ...not always the best
2. What types of exercise did you do this week?
We were still finishing painting and organizing our home...I think we're finally done and I'll have more time/energy to actually do exercise. I do get in some walking at work though.
3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? I don't keep track week to week, but I'm down a total of 60 (two more pounds to go until my first major goal!)
4. What was your biggest challenge?
Eating choices....exercise on the physical side of things. Mentally I'm having a tough time dealing with the way my clothes aren't fitting...they're all too baggy and frumpy looking! It's a good thing, but I can't afford to go buy a new wardrobe (even at Salv. Army) every two weeks!
5. Are you thinking about plastic surgery yet?
I've been thinking that I'll probably need it....
*Fun bonus question:
If you could have any job you wanted, what would you do?
If I had to be in the workforce and could choose I would go back to being a Ballroom Dance Instructor. It was the best job (people, dancing, music, fun!), but it paid beans....Of couse, I'd really rather be a stay-at-home-wife (and mom eventually!).
Best-
