1. Surgery date: July 26, 2006 2. Lbs. lost: 53 lbs. 3. Main source of protein: Isopure shakes, chicken, chili, low-fat string cheese, yogurt. 4. How much water are you getting in?: Shoot for 64oz., not always making it. 5. Are you keeping up with your vitamins/calcium, etc.: Pretty good, I sometimes forget my calcium. 6. What vitamins are you taking? 2 Flintstone chewables a day, 2 calcium citrate, 2 Iron/B12 supplement, 2 Ursodiol (gallbladder), a prevacid, and a baby asprin. 7. Any hair loss? Starting to have some extra hair loss. 8. What kind of exercise are you doing? Unfortunately this is the tough one for me. I have two boys under 3 so I have a hard time finding time to get out to exercise. I go for occasional walks, have been organizing my house, and basically just staying busy with the kids.

Topic: RE: How much weight has everyone lost to date?
Tammie- I am just about 3 months and I have lost 53lbs. I too was worried that I wasn't losing fast enough, and for awhile my weight loss slowed and I was sure I was the one person this wasn't going to work for. But, all of a sudden I started losing again. I did talk to my surgeons office about my concern, and they said an average of 4lbs. a week is what they look for. I also think that which surgeon makes a difference too, because some have pretty strict programs.

1. What types of food did you eat this week? Chicken chunks with blue chesse dressing, Friday made a huge turkey for a family dinner now dont know what to do with all the leftovers. Now that its getting cooler Ive had alot more soups again...McDonalds has a great tasting broccoli soup!!! for when u are on the go. Green beans, broccoli and lots of chicken 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? 40 min at the gym 2 days and 2 days of 40 min of walking 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? didnt lose any....finally hit my next stall 4. What was your biggest challenge? Stopping eating. I used to not want to eat...that seems to be passing. I no longer have to make myself eat but once I eat I have to make myself stop eating. 5. Are you thinking about plastic surgery yet? Most definatly. I still have a long way to go but Im hoping to do it by next fall. Spring would be nice but Im not gonna be ready...I still have way to much wt to lose *Fun bonus question: If you could have any job you wanted, what would you do? Im a nurse and after all this I would love to work with bariatric patients...I love the center where I go...Maybe they will be hiring soon.

Topic: Broke through the plateau!!
Aloha my WLS friends.....well, you were ALL right when you told me that if I just kept on doing what I was supposed to do and tried a couple of other things, that my stall/plateau would break and I would continue on down the scale. Seems like I was at 33 pounds weight loss forever!! Then, I added a vigorous aqua aerobics class and a few extra grams of protein a day, and voila...the scale began to move again, and now I'm down 42 llbs. I know it's not as much as a lot of you at this point in your journey, but I'm thrilled to see that number on the scale dropping for me again. Thanks for your continued support through the tough times and the glorious times. We are like a little family in here aren't we. With so much aloha, KarenS

I was EXHAUSTED in September and I chalked it up to being September and how crazy that month is for teachers. But I knew something wasn't right. I got my bloodwork back and I have iron deficiency anemia and am now taking liquid iron. It made a huge difference. Please tell me that you've gotten your labs done to rule this out? By now you should have had a request for bloodwork by your surgeon. Dawn
