Aw, I bet that you hate not having to cook for Thanksgiving, NOT!!!! I am sorry that you will be having another surgery. You should be able to eat some turkey shouldn't you? I was eating normally after my lap gallbladder removal. Take it slow girlie and just get well. ~Diana~

You have probably made the best choice of your life and extended the quality of your life onehundred percent!!! My doc told me to try to work up to drinking 64 oz of fluids a day, I didn't hit that til about a month and a half postop. Protein-wise yogurt is a good choice, keep eating it. Of course you can't get it all in at this point, but about a month and a half and you should have a good chance of getting all that you need. Just keep trying, that is what is important. I am 3-1/2 months postop and still don't feel like I have to eat, nor do I miss that feeling. Right now you are healing and won't experience pouch hunger, head hunger may be another story. Try to stick to the surgeon's plan for you. Give it time and you will find out how to handle your new pouch's plan for you. Best of luck!! Come back here anytime you want. ~Diana~

I think you are right on schedule. I had my surgery 7/26/06, and I've lost 62 pounds. 5'1" and 307 starting weight. I felt like I was going too slow too, but my Dr. says average 4 pounds a week and I'm still over that.

I had surgery on October 31st. I just thought I would hit your page as everyone on the October forum is still recovering. I need to know when the nausea will pass and at what point will I actually feel like eating. I have had to force myself to drink water today and could barely get in 20 oz. I ate a total of maybe 4 tsp. of yogurt. No where near the protein I need. Please ... I need to know that I have not just made the biggest mistake of my life!

Halloween candy was a non-issue for me, thankfully living in a secured single adults-only building. We had a custume party on the 31st, and I won first prize in the contest! I've added that photo to the photo section of my profile; check it out!! Also, I dropped another pound Monday (weigh day) and have now lost 59 lbs.

I just got back from seeing the surgeon, I'm now scheduled for gall bladder surgery on Nov.21st. Not at all looking forward to more surgery, but if said if my boss makes me go on disablity he'll put me out even longer for recovery. I'm on salary at work and used up my vacation time with my WLS in July. Looks like I get out of cooking this year! Jan

1. What types of food did you eat this week? Seems like lots of stuff from mexican place-refried beans, chicken fajita meat, chicken meat from taco salad, lots of cottage cheese, everyday 1 slice of deli turkey and 1 slice colbyjack cheese for lunch 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? walking the walktrack 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? Don't know about the week. But I have lost 37.25 inches and into my 5th clothes size!!!! At last weigh in, 56lbs total 4. What was your biggest challenge? Getting the fitness place to call me back. I want to join and lift more weights, but after 3 calls this week they must have all of the members they want....GRRRRR!! 5. Are you prepared for Thanksgiving Dinner? What will you be eating? Turkey, SF cranberry salad, green beans, SF pumpkin cheesecake And that will be all for me! *Fun bonus question: For all my Christmas celebrators, we only have 51 days till the big day...Is there a special gift you are searching for but can't find? If not, what is one gift that you would love to have? Just beginning to think about Christmas, but I would love to have a coat that fits! I need a 18-20, does anyone have one to get rid of? Other than that, I would love a tennis bracelet, who wouldn't??
