Topic: RE: Hair Loss
I noticed it right at three months out. Started to notice alittle bit in the sink after blow drying. Now a few weeks later I have to use the hand vac every morning after I blow dry and wipe the hair out of the sink. Everyday seems to be more. I've been taking Biotin since surgery and using nioxin shampoo. Today I went and bought some Nioxin treament that you leave in and use everyday. I'm scared to death that I'll wake up one morning and be bald. My Mom tells me to get a cute hat just in case. I noticed some new hair growth around my hairline. So hopefully it will even out. I take all my vitiamins and protien. Good luck to you.

I have been taking my vitamins and minerals and eating fairly well and I am only losing a little bit of hair so far. I hope that I don't lose any more cause I really didn't have a lot to start with LOL...Anyway sor far so good, I haven't lost a lot so far, thank goodness
Topic: RE: Stomach Grumbling
Sometimes depending on what I eat I have some rumbling and occasional belching, but like I said before it really depends on what I have eaten....
Topic: RE: Friday Five - Weekly Update
1. Foods eaten: at three-month follow-up appt yesterday (previously postponed a week), my nutritionist said now going forward, to only track protein, and to get minimum 60 gms daily. Otherwise, new things last week: sweet potato, two whole-grain crackers, and modified my former recipe for parmesan chicken. All were very nice--still no hunger nor appetite!
2. Exercise: Started Pilates/yoga class tonight, won a one-month membership at Snap Fitness two blocks away, and start tomorrow. Last week: mostly walking, and stair-stepping. Looking forward to new variety!
3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? All our programs are so different; yesterday I was told not to weigh myself until the six-month followup in Feb. Am to keep following the plan, celebrating inches disappearing. However, I've lost 59 to date.
4. What was your biggest challenge? Remembering to eat three times daily--still no hunger nor cravings, which I was told yesterday may or may not change: priceless!
5. Am I prepared for Thanksgiving Dinner? YES! I work part-time, and signed up to work Thanksgiving (receptionist at a seniors' assisted-living complex), and will be taking some chicken with poultry spice, garlic and onion powders; and will be making (for the first time post-op) pumpkin custard (pie recipe without crust!). Haven't decided on which veggie yet.
*Fun bonus question:
No problems attaining my annual goal completing holiday shopping by Nov. 1.What I'd like? The one gift I'd love to have is for all my four siblings who will see me for the first time (since Father's day--and we all live in the twin cities area)) at Christmas day, and for just one of them to 'get it', that they're wrong, this is not just another "diet" I'm going to fail! I'm so grateful for the privilege of choosing my friends! Thanks to each and every one of you!

Unable to get photos loaded, so cut/pasted pic of me on Halloween: won first place in costume contest, feeling fabulous for first time ever! Check out my profile, (Over_the-Rainbow) this photo is the only thing so far in the "My Story" section. Will enter text once I ever get help loading photo to show when I post on message board, among other things. Cha...changes: include being incredibly busy every day and loving it! (except the photo frustration)

Thanks everyone for your help! I've heard that Rogaine works, but I'm not sure. At this point, I'll give anything a shot. I'll keep you posted.

Topic: RE: Just had surgery and need to hear from someome that it will get better
My first month was awful...I regretted it..everything I ate made me feel sick..drinking water made me sick and I was so depressed.
Now...I promise you from the bottom of my heart you will feel better each day.
One day youll just feel like yourself again.
Do your best everyday, be kind to yourself..think about what your stomach just went through!
Hugs

Mariah,
Still having a hard time with that. Everyone is telling me oh my you look great...Well why is it I just do not see what others see. I thought people who would say that knew they looked good and just would say this. Now I am in that position and freght someone will think that of me. I do not see it....Obviously still "hiding" behind things and not wanting to let it show.

Deanna-
Yep...you're right on track with most of us. I'm losing it like crazy too and I'm just making sure to get all my vits and protein in so that it will stop soon.
I'm not taking anything special or doing anything other than sticking to my "rules".
