Topic: RE: On the anniversery of your 4th month, tell us how much weight u have lost
Hello,
On the 6th was my 4 month anniversary and I've gone from 332 to 252, for a total of 80 lbs!
So the totals... 62 + 80 = 142 for the new room total

That is a fallacy, Mariah and 100 grams of protein a day will kill your kidneys. The hair loss is normal and some do and some don't. Nioxin may or may not accept the outcome but one thing is for sure, guys, YOUR HAIR WILL GROW BACK.. it is not permanently gone. The new growth is just what happens to a new baby... they lose their hair and then get that cute, shiny toddler hair.... No worries... you will be fine.
Mariah, I am concerned about the protein intake... unless you weigh 400 lbs. you should not be taking in 100 grams a protein a day ever!! And that is documented scientifically by several doctors and their articles written over the past 15 years.
I am taking in 65-75 grams a day and my surgeon told me not to go over that amount because of the risk of damage to my kidneys and the body only absorbs about 20-30 grams of protein at a time anyway... the rest is waste.
Hair loss and then new re-growth is no biggy... but kidney failure from overdoing protein intake is very, very dangerous. ShelleyAnne

Topic: Check out my new photo!
Please go into my profile, and new photo is currently the only item in "My Story". (Has been so frustrating trying to load photo to show in message board communications, and once that is attained, will enter documentation on my story from day one, and hopefully set up the profile on the 'ticker' method--very time-consuming--need a personal secretary!) Have a great day! I love all of you losers!
Topic: RE: Stuck again.
Ditto. I was down 80, but the scale now says I'm down 78. And I weigh every day too. Oh well.
I've been losing V-E-R-Y slowly these past few weeks. I'm getting discouraged.
Topic: RE: More surgery for me ...
How odd! I had mine out six weeks after a c-section, too. May 2005, to be exact.
For me, the recovery was difficult. I'd say the initial pain was as intense as my RNY, but it didn't last as long. I was on maternity leave at the time, but I would probably have given myself 2 weeks.

That's great! But, please tell me...how are you managing to get in 100 gms of protein a day? I can barely get in 60. It sounds like your on the right track. Thanks for the reply!
Topic: RE: Hair Loss
I was told before surgery to make sure I got 100gms of Protein a day to prevent losing hair. I have done that all along and so far (knock on wood) I havent lost any hair. My husband has even commented that my hair is healthier and doesnt even fall out as much as it did before surgery.
Before surgery when I got out of the shower there would be a small pile in the tub everyday. Now I never see any. I hope its all the protein and vitamins Im taking. I am healthier now than I ever was before surgery.
So I think if u keep your protein up it can help. I know they say what u did about 3 months ago is what u are seeing the results of now. So if u start now maybe in 3 months it will be all cleared up.
