I have hit a few plateaus & as soon as I increased my protien & water intake, I started loosing right away!! I was also told by my surgeon that women will retain water once a month & could even gain a few pounds (just temporairly) Not to worry! It is totally normal! Hugs, Heather

Scott, Please add your total to our room total for the month. We have a running post for Nov -4th month anniversery. Where we are adding our totals up again like we did last month to see how much wt we have all lost. Congrats on getting below 300. I just did that myself a few weeks back and its amazing. I feel better than I have in 10 yrs. I wish I had had this surgery yrs ago. Ive lost 34 inches in just my waist, hips and chest. My wt now is down to 283 on my old scale that I started using at the time of surgery and my new scale is reading 294.. So either way Im below 300 and so happy I am. Im down 111 lbs since surgery.

I am 4 months and 1 day post op and had a wow moment this morning when I stepped on the scale. The scale told me this morning that I am down to 299 pounds. I know that still seems like alot, but it is 109 pounds lost since surgery and 127 pounds lost since I first met the surgeon on May 5. This is the first time that I've been below 300 in probably 25 years or more. This has been an awesome and positive experience. I'm so pleased!!! Scott

Hi Jamilla, I am no expert but, as the saying goes.... "IF YOU DO WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE, YOU'LL HAVE WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS HAD" or something like that. The point is, shake it up, try several new meals this week. Do some different types of exercise, don't think about it too much, just do it! Get rid of anything that perhaps you've picked on that you shouldn't have. Good luck, Maryellen

Diana, for clothing exchange, I'd suggest checking with your local WLS support groups for suggestions and locations. Otherwise, I cannot help you, as I get rid of everything as I shrink out of them, and take them to a thrift store near my home. Honestly, it's worth checking out a thrift store or Goodwill. Have bought very nice inexpensive nicely-fitting clothes especially, at a local thrift shop. It's important we take pride in ourselves with our ever-shrinking bodies; we truly deserve looking great and feeling great, both which do wonders for our self-esteem. Realistically, all you need are a couple skirts or pairs of slacks and several tops to mix and match to expand the temporary wardrobe. Best of luck to you as you dress to express your success! Hugs, Patti
