1. What types of food did you eat this week? Burrito meat/cheese on a small flour tortilla (ate hardly any tortilla), Italian baked chicken, grilled chicken salad, broccoli, green beans... I love vegetables these days.
2. What types of exercise did you do this week? Not much, sad to say... Since the snow hit, I haven't had much motivation/opportunity to go out jogging so I'm going to go back to Curves for a while.
3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? about 4-5 lbs... 70 lbs since surgery, almost 85 total
4. What was your biggest challenge? I had the flu for a few days so didn't eat much and felt nauseated most of the time.
5. You had to have a WOW moment by now, what's your favorite? Oh, I don't know if I could pick just one... probably the subtle looks/comments by others. When I look in the mirror and see a "normal" sized person. I mean, I'm still overweight. I've go tlike 40-50 lbs to go but I feel almost average and I feel sexy pretty often. I think my biggest wow moment was when I was able to shop in the Misses dept and try on "regular" size clothes. I'm wearing size 14 jeans today and a Medium sweater.... is that crazy or what?!?!
*Fun bonus question:
Do you have/plan to get that little black dress for New Years? I totally would if I had somewhere to wear it to. I'm not sure of NYE plans yet... but it's definitely a possibility!! I'm hoping to be a size 10 by Christmas... but that might be pushing it! lol
Topic: RE: Hair Loss?!?!
I have been losing my hair for about a month, and I don't have the extra to lose! I already have thin hair on the top. It is feeling really thin & I am plugging the drains too. I have always liked to get highlights so my scalp isn't so noticeable, but my hairdresser talked me into going a little darker for the winter (still keep highlights on the top).
i have also started to use Nioxin shampoo/Conditioner and my hairdresser told me that the shampoo/conditioner give you about 50% of the benefit and the other 50% comes from the leave in treatment, so I recently added that. Also, if you have a Sally Beauty Supply, you can get the off brand there cheaper. I think it is called Nutri-Ox.
It does seem that the losing has slowed some and I can feel some new growth coming in, feels like stubble on my head.
Topic: RE: Do you still have discomfort when you first start eating?
I haven't experienced discomfort upon eating, so I can't offer any words of wisdom. Gee, I hope it is psychological and just your pouch's way of encouraging you to eat in a healthy way!
Let us know what you find out.
Topic: RE: I did it and I'm so excited!!!
I'm sorry it took me so long to respond and congratulate you!!! I am SO pleased for you!!! Enjoy the fruits of your labor

Friday Five - Weekly Update!
1. What types of food did you eat this week? poached eggs, potatoes, happy meal hamburger (only about 1/2 & no fries), baked chicken
2. What types of exercise did you do this week? walking
3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? 2 lbs this week - 50 1/2 total
4. What was your biggest challenge? Not munching (I had one of THOSE weeks)
5. You had to have a WOW moment by now, what's your favorite? I walked into the building at work and saw a reflection in the glass door. I thought it was someone else. When I realized it was me, it felt great because I didn't see an overweight person.
*Fun bonus question:
Do you have/plan to get that little black dress for New Years? Probably not because my husband and I are pretty low key on New Years. We usually stay home. But, who knows? It might be nice to get all dressed up for my husband.
Good luck to everyone in the coming week!

Topic: RE: Do you still have discomfort when you first start eating?
Depends on what I eat, how big of a bite or if I start too fast. When I first start eating salads I really have to take my time with it, otherwise it feels like it sticks. Same w/ drier meats. I had to take a bite on Thanksgiving and make sure my pouch was ready for turkey. For the most part, though, that has greatly subsided. I do remember that feeling that eating was a chore b/c it kinda hurt.

2. What types of exercise did you do this week? walked
3. How much weight did you lose? 9 lbs! most of that was water weight from the hospital. Total loss? 103 lbs gone forever!!!
4. What was your biggest challenge? eating, still no appetite to speak of, no cravings either.
5. You had to have a WOW moment by now, what's your favorite? Playing on the water slides, and being able to climb the stairs getting to them.
*Fun bonus question:
Do you have/plan to get that little black dress for New Years? Still won't be small enough for that little black dress, and not even sure of NYE plans as of yet, usually go to a party with friends.
Topic: Do you still have discomfort when you first start eating?
I still dread the thought of sitting down to eat because of the discomfort. Does this go away? Do you still have this feeling?
