I also had surgery on July 17th. No you are not done. Each month I gain and lose until after my period, then a drastic drop. I kept fluctuating between 253 and 256. Somedays going up to 257. I was stressing myself out. Finally my period came on and the next day I was at 247. So I will probable drop to about 243, then begin to fluctuate back and forth to 247, then my period, and I'll drop to the 230's. It's a vicious cycle every month. You would think I would stop stressing. NO, but I call my best friend every month crying that I think I have stopped losing. Each time she patiently reassures me that I haven't and the next week my period comes on. Why do I torment myself!!!

Congrats on your accomplishments, you have done absolutely amazing. Size 18 to a 8, you bet they noticed but perhaps couldn't find it them to say so. I figure as long as I feel good and I notice, I'm happy! And I bet you will be DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS...I hope you post pics. I'd love to see your shining moment and celebrate with you. Oh,my... I thought it was ME! So glad we have each other to sound off on this website. Except for some people at the gym I have not heard a word about my drastic weight loss and appearance from family or friends. I walked into Thanksgiving dinner a size 8 this year - last year I was a size 18... hello.... that is like the elephant in the room.... pardon the pun! We all hugged, kissed and said the usuals but no comments about my new body. So I decided right there and then that it does not matter what "they" think or say... I strutted my stuff and ate my little meal and offered thanks for so many many things this year. I am blessed with wonderful kids and grandkids and a husband that I adore. I have a lot to be thankful for and I feel and look fantastic. The next family thing is CHRISTMAS and I intend to look drop-dead gorgeous!!

Topic: The Avenue ( repost from main board)
What a wonderful day this is starting off to be!!! I got an email from the Avenue about tops on sale for $16.99, so I decided to check it out since I have almost nothing to wear. I found quite a few casual and work things so was placing an order for 9 different tops in the next few sizes down. My total was around $177.00, and shipping was free for anything over $100.00. Well, their darn computer system was having problems, so I had to call my order in ... thank goodness! I spoke to a very nice lady and after I ordered the nine tops, she asked if I wanted to add one more? I said not really, but why do you ask? She told me she had applied a coupon and my order was now under $98.00!!! Well of course I ordered another top, the least expensive I could fine, and I'm now getting 10 for less than $115.00! Just wanted to pass on my great find to all of you! Made my day I tell you! Jan

Somethings you have to remember. Everyone is not going to celebrate with you. Some will actually go out of their way not to. Especially family. Jealousy is BIG when it comes to weight loss. I poses a threat to allot of people who looked forward to you being the largest person in the room, or being able to have someone they could secretly feel better than. So when they see you have done something that places them in a vulnerable position, by taking away the safety net of satisfaction they had in knowing that you were worse off than them in some way, the last thing they will do is acknowledge that by celebrating your success. Practice self affirmation and surround yourself with people who are willing to celebrate with you. You have worked hard and you deserve it. I am down 73 lbs. and I look damn good!!! The inner diva is coming out and the people around me know it and some can't stand it. Oh well, it doesn't mean I'm better than anyone, I'm just redefining who I really am. Most of them have never been 320 lbs., if they had they would want to be celebrated too. I was 320, now I"m 246 and counting down, and I"m going to celebrate!!! You should too....with or without family.
