Topic: RE: Liver enzymes WAY up, help please!
Hi Heather, I think you might want to check with your surgeon about your liver enzymes just in case. I know my lipase enzymes were very high and I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. I was in the hospital for a week and was on a TPN IV for a month. I too was very nauteaous and wasn't eating at all. When the pancreas gets upset that is what happens. My surgeon told me since I lost weight so quickly I formed gall stones a lot quicker than normal. That in turn irritated the liver and the pancreas. Don't want to get you worried or anything, but just wanted to give you a heads up as to what I experienced. Best Wishes =) Bethany

Hey, Jesssica: Good luck with the ob/gyn visit. Having your period 26 days apart is no biggy, unless you have other symptoms of trouble. The tiredness and crappy feeling is probably your body's way of telling you that it is working hard to eat the stored fat and wishes you would put in more balanced foods, rich in protein and complex carbs. Winter is tough on the body anyway because we have the urge to hibernate like the bears and store the fat for food... instead as WLS post-ops we are burning the fat off and getting colder and weaker... It is a trade-off for right now. But I promise you that it will get better. I have read several articles about this exact subject. The liver is busy doing the metabolic burn, the kidneys are washing it all from the poisons and the heart, lungs and intestines are waiting for the word that rich, healthy blood is being pumped throughout the body to give you strength. Weight lifting helps here, too. Are you exercising every day? It is really important to keep the levels of hormones in your brain up high so you don't get into t a slump. As for certain smells making you wanna barf.... he he... me, too. Not as much as earlier post op but definitely like when I was pregnant. Let me know what the doc says... take care of you HUGSSS! Engery level low here too. I think that the biggest issue is that the sun goes down so early and I just want to put on my pj's and curl up with a good book. I have found the urge to snack more but I've been trying to stay away from carbs. I'll have a few chunks of low fat cheese or some jerky. I started taking B-complex today. Last year when I was starting to get unmotivated, the doctor told me to get some and it helped...hopefully it will now too.

We had surgery on the same date! I know what you mean though, I've had a terrible lack of energy lately and I'm hungry alot. It happens. I don't know what exactly to do to fix it, but I'm trying to up my intake of water and supplements and its getting better slowly, but surely. I'd definitely ask your physician and just remember this too shall pass. Hang in there, Amber

Hey Sis, not to worry, you are right where you are supposed to be. I have lost 90lbs. total, but 20lbs. was before surgery, so 70 since surgery is very normal! You will keep loosing, for sure! you are doing great. I exercise & workout with weights, I think that is helping me. I also am very nautious & don't eat much at all! I throw up alot lately, but think that is due to a virus. I wish you a wonderful holiday season & a very healthy happy New Year!!!! Big Hugs, Heather
