Yeah, it is so weird! Even with all the food around, I lost a lb between Christmas Eve and Christmas morning! I was shocked!

I have lost slowly too. I was 275 at surgery on 7-10-06 and now I am 214. I know I could do better, as I still snack too much at night.

Hi Lisa, Congrats on what you have lost so far! My weight loss has been slow but I am plugging away! I can tolerate any food but I choose to not have rice, pasta, bread since I know it takes up a lot of room and doesn't provide much nutritional value. I have a little salad just because I have always loved it. My diabetes is all gone and I am off high blood pressure medicine which is wonderful. My next goal is to be off the c-pap machine. Take it step by step. Try to not think of the pounds. Try to think of all the things you are doing right and thenew life style you are starting to lead. Good luck! Julie

Hello slow losers, I am so happy to see this post! I am very much in need of this post . I had a lapband in July 2006 ,I have only lost twenty five pounds [ aNd I know 5 of those were water] and most of that weight was from post surgery week, however I have dropped pant sizes in stead of gaining pant sizes, I was gaining 3-5 pounds of year no matter what. So far I went from size 22 to 16 and dang-it I look[ am sexy] , men [ and my man] are starting to look at me again. I am shopping for smaller sizes and giving away clothes! But the exercise is the key = I can walk and dance and take stairs .. So I know I am ok. Yesterday I had my second fill. Today ,I'm on liquids and fighting the urge move to solids. I known this is an food addicts issue , my whole jounery so far has been steps in recovery from overeating , this band is a tool . So I have invested in food containers and will pack lunch ,dinner etc, I will take this new year resolution as one I can make [finally!!] with this tool I will be able to keep my goals for the first time in a decade. Ibelieve for me the first few month i had to deal with my bad habits [ a lot] now i got a grip on the mental resistance [ I was eating bags of candy after i had stopped for six weeks post surgery, this was a demon i had to accept as real. So we gonna make it slowwwww-ly. I AM FIRMING UP AS I go ,I don't want to sag[ and bag it] more than I have to. You go girl! Halima in philly

Julie, good job girl! Try adding more protein, adding more water and you might become better than average. No expert here, just noticed it on myself. I feel like a slow looser too. Lost 80-85 (depending upon which scale I am on) which for me is probably about half of what I need to loose, I started at 305 in a size 24-26. I guess beefing up on the weight lifting can't hurt either. I noticed when I started that, I didn't loose so many pounds, but the inches really dropped. I will take whatever I can get, how about you?? I am loving size 16. Thanks for the info from the nurse practitioner. I feel better now that my appt with surgeon is coming up soon. Ok, let's see if you can get a picture up as your avatar soon. I love to see smiling faces. Hope to see you soon. ~Diana~
