Topic: RE: Almost 6 months out, 67 lbs down 45 to go on a Plateau and . . .
Hello Tiff,
Congratulations on the 67 lb loss!!! That is really Great, over half way to your goal and not even 6 months out. You are my surgery date sister, we had our surgeries on the same day!! I think you're doing fine, we all hit a plateau or two sooner or later, your body is just triing to catch up with all your weight loss. When I've hit a plateau I always increase my protien and try to take out all carbs. Also make sure you are drinking LOTS of water. And if I read correctly, congratulations on your pregnacy!!! I'm sure that make a difference also with your stall.
Keep up the GREAT work and don't worry, it willl start coming off again, you've already come a long way!!!

PREGNANT(only 6 weeks YIPPEE!!!)!
I've been loosing and gaining the same darn 3 lbs for a month now. I've fluctuated between 206 and 203 since the mid of Dec 06. I've increased my protein and decreased my intake of all food (mainly because EVERYTHING makes me nauseated). I don't really know what else to do. I walk 1.5 miles a day. So I"m still exercising.
HELP?!?!?!?!?
Thanks!
Tiff
Topic: RE: antidepressants
As a nurse and a former user of zoloft I take can tell you that zoloft is well known for causing weight gain. I had switched to lexapro about a year before I decided to have surgery. I too decided to try going off of my meds about a week ago as I near the 6 mo post op point. I have become evil and for the sake of my family I am going back on them. I know that fall and winter is the worst time of year to stop mood meds because of the lack of sunlight that already causes depression. I think I will wait until spring at least before trying this again and also I will review with my surgeon and PCP before stopping or changing meds. Good Luck!

86. To walk by those reflecting windows and not look the other way
87. To hear my father-in-law say, "I can get my arms around you twice", during a hug hello
88. To hear my husband say "oooohhh you're sooo skinny!", or "look at your tiny butt"
89. To no longer fear the amuzement ride will break should I dare to get on one again
90. To never again have the mortifying embarassment of being handed a seatbelt extension on an airplane
91. To no longer fear someone will be thinking "please don't let her sit next to me" on a plane, train, bus etc.
92. To have my co-workers give me lots of credit and encouragement and praise while knowing that I did have WLS, and thinking I'm courageous!
93. I think #84 deserves a second, but I'll add that I now get asked for weight loss advice!
94. To have energy after work to be able to do something other than sit and watch TV
95. To be able to just stand up from a sitting position, rather than shift, lift, push and struggle
96. To be able to get down onto, and up off of, the floor with ease, rather than having to take into account whether once I'd gotten down if I'd even be able to get back up without having to call for assistance.
97. To greatly reduce my fears of having multiple strokes and ending up bedridden like my mom.
98. To soon be thinner than my sister!!!
99. To no longer weigh more than my 6'2'' brother! How embarassing that was!
100. To not have to push the car seat back in order to fit behind the wheel
101. To have met all the wonderful, supportive, friendly, awesome people on this board, at the weight loss meetings, at the hospital, and of course to have met my life saving doctor. Dr. Roye, you rock! And you're gorgeous inside and out!!!!!!!!!
I'm new to this forum. Didn't even know it was here until a couple weeks ago.

I don't have that type of money.

What are you Valentine's Day plans? Well, I hope that my husband and I will be doing something. I think I'm going to leave a sheet of paper laying around with random ideas on how to surprise your wife for Valentine's Day. Hehe. He's so not romantic and I've never wanted it until now. The doc says it could be weight loss related. Different things are happening physically and mentally now. Who knows.
Have a good weekend, all.
