I think it's very typical. I was at my 6 month checkup this week and asked my DR. she said between 6-9 months post-op your body is starting to figure things out and the weight loss will slow down.
Just keep doing what your doing and don't give up!

Ok, it's 12:22 a.m. 1/25, and my six-month followup Tuesday was full of great news! I've lost 86 lbs! The end of the'honeymoon phase' of most rapid weight loss does not concern me as I've still got absolutely no hunger nor appetite/cravings . However, it is a chore remembering to eat those three one-cup meals daily, mostly protein. Protein choices: broad variety of fish, lean pork, chicken, fat-free cottage cheese, Egg Beaters, string part-skim mozzarella cheese, soy milk (vanilla, chocolate, chai, capuccino, and plain with varied extracts (lemon, raspberry, French vanilla, or almond)added. And my 51st birthday is tomorrow; am feeling younger than ever before and definitely looking forward to many healthy happy years ahead! Have a great day! Patti

Hi Kisha, congratulations on losing 90 pounds to date! Regarding your 'having problems eating', please consult your surgeon's clinic to rule out any mitigating factors, ok? Have you been trying an honest variety of foods? I'm six months out today (hey, it's 12:05 1/25 here, and at my six-month followup appointment Tuesday, at 5' 1/2" height, started at 239 and currently 153, for 86 pounds gone forever! Please, please check with your WLS clinic and let them know your're having eating problems. Have you any appetite? I've still got absolutely no hunger nor appetite/cravings, and now that the 'honeymoon phase' of most rapid weight loss ends, I'm not concerned, being such a chore remembering to eat those three one-cup meals, mostly protein daily. Protein choices: broad variety of fish, lean pork, chicken, fat-free cottage cheese, Egg Beaters, string part-skim mozzarella cheese, soy milk (vanilla, chocolate, chai, capuccino, and plain with varied extracts added. Best of best wishes to you as you proceed toward your first goal! Hugs, Patti

Congratulations on your six-month surgiversary Bejai! I just looked at your profile to see your progress as you didn't provide any stats. HUGE congratulations on all your efforts to date! My six-months is in six minutes, the 25th, and at 5' 1/2" started at 239 and am currently 153, for 86 pounds gone forever! My six-month followup appointment yesterday was amazing, as I've been so diligent following program and exercise. However, as we end our honeymoon phase where we lose the most, I am not concerned going forward on my own, as neither my hunger nor appetite/cravings have reappeared. Can't believe what a chore it is to eat those three one-cup meals of mostly protein daily, though will definitely put it to my advantage. Keep up the fabulous work and have a great day! Hugs, Patti (who turns 51 Fri. the 26th, and is feeling younger than ever!)

Diana, congratulations on losing 86 lbs in six months! How else could you have accomplished that?! My six-month appointment was yesterday, and I, too, have lost 86 lbs, although am 5' 1/2" tall, started at 239, and currently at 153. My WLS clinic states the surgery will force 70% loss of initial excess weight, and once the 70% is gone, the weight loss will significantly slow down, and it's up to the individual to remain diligent following their eating program plus exercise. My surgeon originally set my goal at 'between 115 and 125", and this was agreed upon by his nurse with whom I conferred. I still have absolutely no appetite nor hunger/cravings, and am most challenged by remembering to eat three one-cup mostly-protein meals daily. We're at six months out, and that is the end of the honeymoon phase, where the most weight is lost. YOU decide where you ultimately want to be and proactively work toward that goal. Take good care of you and have a great day! Patti
