I just got a surgery date of 7/20. I can't wait. I am rereading all of my materials over and over again. The more I read the more nervous I get! July 20th seems so far away but I am sure it is going to sneak up on me before I know it! I need to really start getting my house, mind, and kitchen prepared for this huge change in my life! I have to start my liquid diet on 7/10. Anyone found any good protein powders or shakes??? If so, let me know! I hate to buy a huge thing of the stuff and find out that I hate it!!!

They say that our tastes will change after surgery, so you may not want to stock up too much on something that tastes "good" now. One product that sounds pretty cool is the Profect liquid protein. 3 oz and 25g of protein. Also unflavored protein powder, like Unjury or Anywhey, that you can add to just about anything for a protein boost. Congratulations on your surgery date! Jezia

I'm 7/12/06 at St. Vincent's in Indianapolis. We're still in school here and the absolute worst part of the wait for me is trying to keep my mind focused on grading when all I want to do is research, research, research. You'd think after a year of reading up and researching I'd be done, but I'm not getting nervous at all. Excited like all of you, and darn ready to get the show on the road. Finding this site has really been a great asset as it helps me to see a variety of opinions and experiences. Have you all been shouting your excitement from the rooftops or have you been keeping it more low-key?

School will be over soon, and then you can obsess all you want to! I have been sharing my excitement with close friends but keeping my mouth closed at work. There is only one person at work I have a personal relationship with outside of the work setting, and that is because we have worked together twice before; for the most part my work and personal lives are separate. BUT . . . I have my Mom and several close friends (including one who had her surgery 2 years ago and is going with me to take care of me) So I have people to listen to my ramblings Jezia

This is such an old thread! I can't believe some of you got your surgery dates so far ahead of time. I seem to be the only one on July 25....best of luck to all of you!! Can't wait to hear about your experiences. Sandy
