What am I doing wrong???
Hello all I had surgery 07/26/06 I have lost 71 lbs so far but I have been on a major plateau since Dec 12, 2006...I keep gaining and losing the same five pounds and can't get past it...
I get in about 60 grams of protein aday, take all vitamins, stopped working out per Dr's order (primary care) he wants to see if I am working out too much...when I was working out I would do the biggest loser workout disc (30 minutes), 45 minutes on the treadmill, and walk up and down the stairs at work for 20 minutes...so he wants to see if I will lose the weight that way...I am still doing the walk at work though I just can't stop all together...I do measure but in in a month I only lost 2 inches....I eat 3 small meals aday 4-5 oz. and I do either a protein bar or a protein shake for snack...so does anyone have any advise? I am desperate right now.
My suggestion would be to eat a little more. You dont want to slow your metabolism down to much. I try to get in 3 meals and then 2 snacks. Also protein bars usually have way more sugar and carbs than protein...have u looked closely at the ones u are eating to see if it is really a protein bar or an energy bar???? I used to eat them as a meal replacement early out but not any longer becouse of how much sugar is in them. I really liked this one I found ...it didnt have any sugar...but I cant find them any more...think they quit making it. If I can find them again I'll list its full name and ingredients for everyone to see.
Instead of having a protein bar, how about having something like jerky, which is pure protein?
My DR doesn't want me doing snacks unless I'm really feeling hungry ... so far I still don't get hungry. She does have me eat a banana every afternoon for the potassium.
Every DR is different, mine says no nuts or peanut butter unless you have to gain weight and no protein drinks it slows your metabolism down.
I think a lot of u**** the same plateau as you after 6 months, our bodies are starting to figure things out again.
Make sure your getting in all your liquids too.
