I have been losing so slow latley. Anyone else? I am 20 pounds to goal so I guess since July 20th til now the loss is wonderful but now its like a pound every other week. So its really slow now. With 20 pounds to go i know I am doing well. I dont want to get underwieght so I guess this slowing down is my bodies way of balancing out. Not sure never really read anyones take on it to give me a heads of normality. Let me know what you think...
Thank you all ahead of time!!!
I didn't lose a pound for 6 weeks, I thought that was it. Our bodies just have to adjust I guess. I'm still behind my charted goal schedule but I'm not sweating it anymore (at least this week) because I know that I'm not done and that I'm still losing inches. Anytime I get discouraged, I go in and put on my old pair of pants. I'm saving them for my "after" story. I feel much better after that.

I've slowed down a great deal, but I've noticed when I don't loose weight the inches are coming off.
I bought a new pair of slacks finally, and the next week they were already too loose in the waist. So I don't mind the not loosing weight as fast since the inches are coming off.
I wish I was 20 pounds to goal ...congratulations!

I'm in the same boat. I didn't lose anything for 2 weeks but I think I"m losing this week cause I lost a notch on my belt and my size 10 jeans are feeling loose. It's frustrating because I have a size 12 pair that still fit... go figure. Anyway, I am actually kinda glad to slow down because I feel like I've been in a whirlwind the last six months with weight loss and I'm glad to stabalize for a little while. I'm actually happy to be where I am even though I really want to lose another 25-35 lbs. My body will lose it when it's ready to, but I think it's trying to catch its breath for a couple of weeks. I also know I haven't been exercising or drinking water like I should AND I've been increasing my food intake because my body is hungrier than it was. I need to exercise and eat fewer carbs and I should lose more. Also, I plan on seeing my surgeon next week to discuss things with him. Just be patient. You'll get back on track but I think our losing 5-7 lbs every week is gone. It's our bodies' way of telling us that we're almost there!! Call me an optimist...
Hi Melissa,
I've always heard the closer to goal you get the slower things go for you anyways. But look at it this way, you are almost to goal and it's only been at the most 7mos. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! And you are correct, you don't want to get underweight because then there is a whole other issue you'll have there.
To the poster that said our 5-7lbs a week losses are over, I totally agree. If we continued at that pace, we'd eventually slip down the drain *L*.
You have done a wonderful job...try concentrating on how well you've done versus how far you've got to go. These words are for my own mental as well as I am not anywhere close to goal and am plagued everyday with the thoughts of whether I will make it to goal or not in that lovely window before our work really gets hard. I get caught up in the *I have X amount to go* also, and it often times work against me. Keep your chin up, you are doing fabulous.
Keep up the good work!

My surgeon told me that the weight loss would start to slow down now and I could expect to lose about 5-10 lbs. a month instead of 10 -15 like I was previously. I try not to sweat it because my clothes keep getting loose and I no longer have to take anything for diabetes or high blood pressure (I used to take insulin 4 times a day as well as oral meds.) so I am doing the happy dance. I am also twenty pounds to my surgeon's goal.
