OT: Gals, what's your experience with ovarian cysts?

After about a week of left-side abdominal pain and a sporadically painful 'tiny marble', I went to my primary doc last Thursday, being certain I had a hernia. However,the month-plus of either heavy bleeding or spotting and much bloating (definitely unrelated to ingested food) could certainly be gynecologic as my cycles have been heavier, although quite regular, (just turned 51), with sporadic sharp pain in lower left side and most of the abdomen tender to touch, was told it's an "abnormality of the ovary". So, am having an ultrasound of the left ovary in the morning. I checked out ovarian cysts on WebMD, although my symptoms dion't seem to match those cited. Is anyone familiar with this? Am open to any suggestions, dear friends! Patti

Hi Patti, Im so sorry your having pain! Darn girlie issues I dont have any help for you regarding cysts but Im an expert on Endometriosis. Let us know how you do after you see your Dr. and in the mean time try heating pads and tylenol! Hugs Linda

Ouchie! I do hope you are feeling better. I don't have much to add, ok nothing really, but I wanted you to know I was thinking about you I once had a pap, doc couldn't "find" an ovary, did a wand ultrasound and still couldn't find it. To this day I still don't know where it is. I wonder if somebody stole it while I was in Vegas and sold it on eBay?
