six months and 90 lbs gone!!!

hi everyone, im jacki and i dont post here often. i am usually found on the NJ boards. i hope everyone has passed a good 6 month anniversary. i have lost 90 lbs to date and im thrilled. i seem to be in a little stall again, but i know as we get farther out from our surgery date that will happen more often. im about to go on a two week vacation and im a little nervous about how the eating will go. not so much as in eating too much, but as in finding what i need. i think im going to pack some protein bars and protein powder to take along with me. would love to hear how you all are doing. this has been such a mega event in my life. i feel good most days, cept for some heartburtn, and slowly, very slowly, im starting to see the thinner me in the mirror too. thats hard after a lifetime of being obese. hugs and continued success to all of us!!!!, jacki

Hi Jackie, Congratulations on a great weight loss! It's a rough road, but one I'd travel all over again to get to this point! I totally understand about being nervous about vacation, I'm already planning on what to take with me on ours, and it's a month and a half away! My DR and I even talked about it at length during my 6 month checkup. We're headed to Ireland and Holland and I'm planning on taking lots of jerky, protein bars, and Crystal Light to go packs. I'm not as worried about eating in Holland as we've been many times before and I know what to expect, plus we'll be staying with family. It's Ireland that worries me! I haven't hit a stall, but the weight loss has slowed from 5-6 pounds a week down to 2-3, no complaints though, it's still coming off! Have a wonderful vacation! Jan

Congrats! You'll do fine on vacation. When I traveled over the holidays I took bars and protein (I use vials, but powders would have been good too). If you're going somewhere that has a grocery store, you could always get a few items there. OR, if it's all restaurant eating just make smart choices....when all else fails for me I go for a salad, but that's because I know I don't eat enough veggies usually!
