Halloween?

Just wondering how everyone made it through Halloween? This was the very first year in my life where I didn't eat any candy, and actually had no desire to even eat any. I was so pleased! We had quite a few trick or treaters, but I still had a big bag of candy left, so I brought it in to work and filled all the candy jars ... except mine, it only has sugar free in it! Hope you all had fun! Jan

My day was fairly uneventful. I was pleased not to be eating candy. I can remember last year and how SICK I was with surgar OD. I just ate and ate and ate. ACK! We've had candy in the house for two weeks and my husband had it put away until last night. Ilet him hand it all out I would hate to think a piece would fall and unwrap itself in my mouth! We had some OLD trick or treaters! Did you?

Peggy, I totally understand about the sugar OD. Sugar used to be what I lived for ... anything sweet and it was in my mouth, and more waiting to go in. I look back and think of what a pig I really was! We always have tons of trick or treaters, and last night we got a lot of older ones too. Jan

we typically get 400-500 trick or treaters in an average evening. This year I just didn't want to deal with it. I made little treat bags for the neighbor boys, neices and nephews and went to my in-laws where they get about 50 or so. I put a sign on my door stating that there were no treats this year. a good time was had by all.

I'll have to admit, sifting through my son's candy was a bit tough. This whole week has been tough for me. I haven't lost any weight going on two weeks and I've been having a lot of personal problems, naturally I crave chocolate. Thankfully I have a few sugar free sweets available and they help, but I definitely had to put the candy up. I went to Wendy's and bought those free Jr. Frosty coupons for my trick-or-treaters, didn't have to have candy in the house at all! Normally, I don't miss candy, I'm not really sure what's going on inside me right now. Take this morning, we had a birthday party at work. The girls brought in Doughnuts/Danishes, a chocolate cherry pie, chocolate oatmeal revel bars, grapes, an egg baked thing, and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. I had the toughest time. I don't even like doughnuts and they looked good. I took one bite of the apple crisp, a chuck of eggs, a fist full of grapes, and a smidge of the chocolate oatmeal cookies. Normally this stuff doesn't bother me, we've had dozens of parties lately. I'm a bad girl. It could've been worse, but I figure I better admit it here. I'm sure you guys understand. Tomorrow will be better, I HOPE! Amber

Halloween candy was a non-issue for me, thankfully living in a secured single adults-only building. We had a custume party on the 31st, and I won first prize in the contest! I've added that photo to the photo section of my profile; check it out!! Also, I dropped another pound Monday (weigh day) and have now lost 59 lbs.
