Lost 44lbs and still NOOOO energy
I had my surgery on the 21st of July. I started at 219. I am now at 175. I do exercise (1x weekly) the rest of my "uncounted" exercise time is keeping up with three children and working from home. I start to clean a room (in my spare time), only to make it messier.Did I mention 3 children whom fight me about picking up after themselves.
I am discouraged that I have not lost more weight. One advantage so far is that since the surgery, I seldom got a period. Since wls I have had 2 and they were exactly a month apart. I am hardly hungry. If I have that extra bite, I get to where I think I might pass out. I just feel so overwhelmed lately. I have trouble going to the bathroom. Either i am costipated or have not gone in weeks. Is anyone else feeling this way?
im having the same problem,,i go and clean the yard and im ready to pass out,,,im thinking because we cant eat but a little at a time it burns off fast so we need to eat alittle pro meat or something like that more often,,i go and eat a piece of cheese or protine bar 1/2 or something and im fine,,,,,ive just hit 60lbs and im so happy,,,,,good like,,

Molly,
The last couple weeks I've too been soooo tired. Prehaps you need a blood test to see if there is a vitamin defeincey. I found out I was lacking iron and vitamin C and thre P.A. added iron with added C and vit b12 to my long list of daily meds. This seemed to help.
Have you added fruit or omega oils (walnuts / almonds) to your diet yet? This worked for my constipation. The gentle laxative Colace can help too.
Don't be discouraged about your weight loss - 44 lbs is great . I had my RNY on july 10th and weighed 215lbs now I am 169lbs. (loss 46 lbs). You are considered (as I) a light weight patient and we will lose at a slower weight then a person who started at a more heavier weight and according to my surgeon the lighter weight patient will come to their goal weight faster then the heavier patients.
I am 54 yrs young - the WLS plus with me is that my hot flashes has stopped ( now I am always cold) and my pains in my back, hips and feet are a thing in the past.

I would have my labs checked to make sure everything is okay in that area. Like someone else said your iron may be low. I get tired from time to time. But for the most part I feel great. I also battle with constipation. My Dr. said to take stool softners and that help a lot. The longest I have let my self go without going number two is 9 days. After that I refuse to let it go that long. I also have problems with monthly periods. I had one about two weeks after surgery and haven't had one since. I wasn't regular before surgery but they were hoping that weightloss would correct that problem. But it hasn't so far. I go to the Dr. on Wednesday and I am going to ask him again about my absent periods. My GYN said that I have the onset of PCOS.
But good luck to you. I hope that they figure out why you are so tired.
I was EXHAUSTED in September and I chalked it up to being September and how crazy that month is for teachers. But I knew something wasn't right.
I got my bloodwork back and I have iron deficiency anemia and am now taking liquid iron. It made a huge difference.
Please tell me that you've gotten your labs done to rule this out? By now you should have had a request for bloodwork by your surgeon.
