I'll be three months out next week (can't wait to eat LETTUCE!), and have lost 70 lbs. as of today. I started high, and weigh 5'9", and am 30 (like pp said!), but I have been bad at working out. Once I can get that going, I'm confident the weight will fall of sooner. I need to lose another 30 lbs. by Christmas to hit my first goal!

Tammie- I am just about 3 months and I have lost 53lbs. I too was worried that I wasn't losing fast enough, and for awhile my weight loss slowed and I was sure I was the one person this wasn't going to work for. But, all of a sudden I started losing again. I did talk to my surgeons office about my concern, and they said an average of 4lbs. a week is what they look for. I also think that which surgeon makes a difference too, because some have pretty strict programs.

Just went for my month postop check up. Lost 53 pounds. Doc says I am right on track, any more and skin will hang. Any less and I am not doing something right. I started by monthly cycle, and my scale shows an 8 lb GAIN from last week. Ok, so I wonder which number I can use??? Of course I want the lighter one, but guess I have to use the doc's "official" scale reading, dang it.... Not worried about the 8 lb gain, it comes right off after the cycle is over, but man, that is alot of water weight isn't it??? ~Diana

I had my surgery July 24th and since then Im down 63lbs over 3 weeks ago and i have been averaging about 6 pounds a week so add another 18 pounds roughly to that and there you go. I feel fantastic and Im sure looking good!

Hi Tamie! We share a surgery date, and I've lost 139 pounds; I'm a bit depressed that I'm only losing 10 pounds a week, though. Just kidding! On both counts! I just wanted to echo the sentiment that it's about walking the path, not racing down it. Every -body- is different, so make sure yours is getting the best opportunities it can to be well! I think you should be patting yourself on the back for every positive choice you make. The WLS was a big positive choice, but every good meal, every bit of exercise, every glass of water...

I had my surgery the day after yours and I'm down 50 pounds as of yesterday. It feels so good tgo see the numbers going down and not suffering through things so much. I know that when I ate what I do now before I had the surgery, I was soooo hungry and now I don't even think about eating. I have to remind myself to eat my meals otherwise my body doesn't tell me I'm hungry.
