Weeding the Closet.... Help
Aloha Tiff......You hit on a really good subject. My closets are stuffed and so are my drawers. I'm a bit of a shopaholic, and I have a wonderful Savers here on the island that has excellent clothing for a fraction of what they would cost new. So, I have lots of smaller sizes that I put away for "the day when they fit" and NOW some of them are fitting me!! I put on two dresses I had put away as way too small last night, and both of them fit perfectly.
I have taken several bags of clothing to Savors, but always seem to bring things home, too. Here in Hawaii we wear a lot of Mumus which are wonderful and I have lots of those, but as soon as they get dumpy looking because they don't fit right in the shoulders....out they are going to go.
What I'm really looking forward to is feeling comfortable wearing shorts and tops again. It has been years since I felt comfortable in pants of any kind...just wear sundresses and mumus. But I'm beginning to think in terms of shorts, swimsuits, and tank tops! Yeah!
Thanks for good subject!

I've been feeling the SAME way. I had some really nice clothes, clothes I loved to wear and now they're 2-3 sizes too big and are falling off. I also find that by keeping the baggy clothes on, I was actually making myself look bigger than what I've become. I was wearing a pair of jeans that had been too small for me before the surgery and were too big (like a whole size or two) and then I bought a pair of 18's and 16's (I'm kind of in between depending on style). I wore the now fitting new pants to work and everybody is amazed at how small I look, from one day to the next. So, I decided that if I'm going to lose the weight, I'm going to enjoy it and look good in the process and I can't do that by wearing clothes too big for me. I'm lucky in that I can give most of my big clothes to my mom and the clothes I'm wearing now or that have just recently become too big can go to my sister. That makes it easier, but it does feel good to give them to someone who needs it. I am enjoying shopping now because I can shop in the "regular" clothes sections (NO more plus sizes!). I wear either a L or XL in shirts and a 16 or 18 in pants. I have found that going to Wal-mart, Target or JCPenney (When there's a good sale) is the best bet for me. I don't buy a whole new wardrobe, but find that a pair of jeans and a few tops can get me buy. Sweaters last a while, cause even if they're too big, it's okay.
GOod Luck and hopefully we can all be happy about giving our clothes away! I know I'm working on it!
