3 Months here we come!
You and I had surgery on the same date. I am down 86 pounds since surgery and 104 pounds down since the first time I met with the surgeon on May 5, 2006. Of course, I likely had more to lose than you so that may explain some of my accelerated loss. Even though you are going "slower" it sounds like you're still doing great. Keep up the good work and keep in touch.

Hey Laura,
I am exactly at 3 months today. My surgery was on July 3rd and I am down 62 pounds. I am having a hard time with any meats. I do protein drinks to make sure I'm getting in enough protein. I had my lab work done last Thursday and everything was good except my iron. It was low, so they told me to get a prenatal vitamin with iron and add that to my already heavy intake of vitamins. I am hoping that things will be better when I go back. I did get some spinach since I know that's high in iron. Since I can't do meats, I know liver is out of the question.
All in all I am doing well. I feel good, I am starting to look good and I don't regret having this surgery...not even when I'm puking my guts up because I've tried meats again or ate too fast or drank too soon after eating. It's the best decision I could possibly make for me. Do I miss all the old foods? YES but I remind myself daily that it was those eating habits that got me to the weight I was before surgery. I am much happier now than ever. I can actually make it through a shopping trip at Wal-Mart without feeling as though I'm going to die. It feels good to be active again.
I wish you much success as I do for all us July babies. What a way to ring in the 4th next year when we all will be at least a 100 lbs lighter than we were this year. Can't wait to get to goal and see the amazing results.
Lots of Love
Kathy
Hi. My surgery was 7/19/06 and I have lost 50 lbs. I workout with a personal trainer three times a week, do cardio exercise 7 days a week for at least an hour to 2 hours a day and eat 65-75 grams of protein and 64-70 oz. of fluids a day. No complications and I am wearing a size 12 already.... yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Going for my blood work on Thursday and to see the surgeon the following Tuesday for results...hope they are as good as I feel!!
I had my surgery on July 12th. I do have my 3 month follow up on Monday the 9th. Im so looking forward to finding out how much Ive lost on my drs scale. Hers are usually about 9 lbs less than mine. I hope they do some blood tests. If they dont Im going to have my family dr do some. Im so curious now about how my triglycerides and cholesterol are doing.
I havent had any hair loss yet. Has anyone had any....Im so worried that will happen. Ive been told it usually starts at 3-4 months out. I got my very long hair cut very short so when it starts happening it wont be so noticable.

So far I'm down 73lb. I'm hoping for at least 80-85 before my appt. 2 more pounds and I'll be one of the happiest women in the world ... I'll be in twoterville! Haven't been there for years!
Glad to hear everyone is doing so well ... and no hair loss here yet!
