I think it's okay to complain - as long as you don't let yourself get too far down and go back to old habits. I found it very frustrating and disappointing... no matter how much I told myself to look at the total amount I'd lost. I hit a stall and lost 1 pound in three weeks. Everyone except my doctor and his nutritionist told me to cheer up and look at the big picture. I felt validated in my disappointment when my doctor said yes - I was losing slower than the average. He had me come in and test my metabolism. It ended up being faster than the average person so they said I should eat more to break stalls. I've lost 12 pounds in the two weeks since my stall broke. Your's will break too - I wish you the best!

I'm a bit stalled too, but I think it's because I've not been exercising like I should be. GRRR....easy way out this is not! Christina S

I am 7 weeks post op and have only lost 25 lbs. I keep telling myself that slow is good but I am starting to get a little worried.

Hey there Linda, I know how you feel, I am a little early than you July 10th and for some reason about a month to six weeks out, I just stopped losing, I would gain a pound lose a pound lose two gain two back and I hovered at about 260 or so, then it started again. I don't know how true it is, but I was told that sometimes we hover around the weight our body is use to while it adjusts and then we lose again...works for me. I did notice that I was losing inches though so measure yourself once a week or two weeks and I'll bet you will notice a change. Way to go on your weight loss!

I had my surgery over 2 weeks before you and I'm down 39lbs at this point. I went through several weeks that I didn't lose anything and then over the past 2 I lost another 7lbs. I put my scale away when its not moving--it goes right to my head and I start to wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I just took my 2 month pictures and there is definitely a drastic change between month 1 and month 2--I couldn't believe it. Are you measuring inches too? It makes a difference. When the scale didn't move I got out the tape measure. I'm down 22 inches (chest, hips, waist, thighs,& arms).

I think we all need to remember, especially for those of us over 40, that it didn't take us 2 months to put it all on, it will definately take us a while to lose it. Remember, at least a pound at a time is better off that back on. And keep the faith. Some weeks are better than others . I am now 2 months post-op, very sedentary and started at 305 and I am only down to 268. However I had a very bad UTI and lost some weight that week because I couldn't eat anything. So girls, lets just keep backing each other up and patting ourselves on the back for doing this. Thanks, Nancy Gillam
