Oh the pain!!!!!
What were your symptoms of a stricture? I have the worse pain trying to eat anything that I have to chew. I take very, very small bites and chew, chew, chew, but the pain in my chest is excrutiating, then I have to throw up. I am 5 weeks out tomorrow. Talked to my surgeon about it last week and he recommended I take a couple of sips of water before eating to push through any mucous, but that's not helping. I'm calling him tomorrow and I want things checked out. I can't stand the thought of living like this.
The very 1st. time I ate anything solid which was a scrambled egg I felt like a train was on my chest for at least 12 hrs. Never felt like vomiting. Just felt horrible the whole day, even put a cold pack on my chest and slept sitting up most of the day. Finally passed and I was fine after that. Has happened a couple of times after that but not as bad. I figure when I start to fell full I have to stop even though my brain is telling me I'm still hungry. I'll be five weeks out on Tuesday and I'm down just about 30 lbs. What are you eating?

I'm so sorry you're in such pain! Please pursue this with your Dr.
I was told that if you throw up it's a behavior issue (not chewing enough, eating too fast, body doesn't "like" food you're eating, etc.) and that if you have the issue at the other end it's true dumping. BUT, if the pain continues like you're describing I'd have it checked out especially since you seem to be doing it right.
Bottom line....Dr. would know for sure.

I have to make sure that I chew everything really good before I eat it and if I eat to much I get a pain in my chest. Sometimes I just have to endure a little pain and then it moves on down a little or I get sick. The other night I was dying for a salad...okay I know the wrong thing to do....but my body made me bring it back up...It will be a while until I do that again. Sonya
