Hi everybody, sorry it took me so long to post!
I got home from Brazil on Wednesday, slept all that day, and have slowly been getting unpacked, visiting my mom, going to see my PCP, all that "getting home" stuff (in between naps, of course). I am doing very well except that I can't get all the protein in that my surgeon wants me to - he says minimum 90, and there is no way I can get that much into my tiny tummy at this point, even eating every couple of hours!
My big challenge on getting home was that my company's short term disability vendor was fighting me about paying my STD while I am off. I had to get Dr. Marchesini to email me his records and reports, get my PCP to fill out forms for a second time, and offer to take pictures of my incision to prove that I had open abdominal surgery. This morning I was told it is ok, so HOPEFULLY that is the last of that problem.
It is frustrating being at home and having things I am not supposed to do, like all the bending up and down it takes to empty the dishwasher, vacuuming the carpet, take the bird cages outside to be scrubbed down. But this afternoon a couple of friends are coming over and I bet they can be talked into helping me out.
I am glad to hear the good news from the other July babies! Today is the last day of July, so presumably we will ALL be done by today! Hurray for the brand new LOSERS!!!

Hey Susan,
Welcome home and welcome to the loser's bench. We have been keeping it warm for you since you've been gone. I am glad to have you back state side and know that you are doing good. I had my surgery on July 3rd and went for my 4 week check up this past Wednesday. Officially I have lost 32 lbs in 4 weeks. I'm very excited wtih my progress so far. I also become a grandmother again on July 24th. So as you can see July held a lot of changes and experiences for me. I am so excited to be on the loser side of town. It feels really good. Hope to hear all about your progress real soon.
Lots of Love
Kathy
