How long before the doctor would okay you guys to go back to work? I forgot to ask my surgeon and would like a general idea. I work with emotionally disturbed children and may potentially have to physically restrain them....so I guess that would make a difference as well.....However, that doesn't happen very often......they probably look at me and think "I am not messing around with that big WOMAN" !

I had a lap and could have gone back to work at 2 weeks out but I didnt want to. Im taking 4 weeks off...just for the vacation. I work at a mental hospital and I would have no problem doing restraining someone now. After 3 weeks all wt restraints are lifted. I can even go back to the gym after 3 weeks. Mariah

Thanks for the info. I asked off for six weeks and even if I am ready to go back I think I will take off the additional time as well! I do very intensive in home services and I want to make sure I am 100% when I go back because it can be very draining on you. We have a very high turn over rate because it is so stressful. Monique D.

I had LAP RNY on the 17th and was back to work half days with the DR's OK on the 26th. So basically I only had a week and a half off. Janet
