I´m an official loser!!!
Hi yáll,
I´m still down in beautiful Hermosillo, Mexico. I had my surgery on the 24th, no complications as of yet, but the pain was really hell. Today is the first day that I have felt somewhat human again, but I am doing well, able to drink and eat my yummy jello!!! (if I ever see jello again after this experience I will: barf: !!!
The care here was extraordinary, I had a private nurse the whole time that had no other patients but me. Dr U is the most caring doctor I have ever met and so was the anesthesiologist (who held my hand before surgery) and the Intermal Med doc who slipped me some extra strong pain meds just in case I needed them later. I was really hurting the first three days, and Dr U actually got down on his knees and held me hands when I was hurting so bad. Today, most of the pain is gone and I can walk around for short distances. This is a very serious surgery, with very serious possible complications and a great amount of pain for most. No walk in the park, more like a series of battles. But I came through and am so glad I went to Mexico, the nurses were phenomenal, the hospital spotlessly clean, and the Mexican people so warm and friendly. We made many friends and have their addresses and phone numbers and will keep in touch. I learned a log of Spanish (¨medicina dolors¨ was most useful to me, pain medication!)
If I ever have to have major surgery or anyone in my family, I will pay out of pocket and go there. I have had many surgeries in the US and they were nightmares compared to CIMA hospital and its staff. I just can´t say enough. Dr U has a lady named Sylbia that takes you everywhere, gets your medicines, does everything and she is so sweet.
Well, we´re going to go sit out by the pool for awhile, beautiful blue with tiled dolphins and sea turtles.
A special thanks to my Angel, thank you so much!!!
Blessings,
Jaime
