Worried
I'm not worried about my upcoming surger. What I am worried about is that my surgeon says surgery will be canceled if I gain weight from the time of my consult.
Well that was a month and a half ago and guess what....of course I've gained about 5 lbs. I figured no big deal my last week and a half I'll exercise and eat right and do a liquid protein shake fast.
Well, it's been an avg of at least a 100 degrees here for a couple weeks so i havent been able to exercise and on top of that I think im retaining water from the heat and my monthly cycle and i havent been able to loose any weight.
My preop appointment is Friday. I'm just freaked that after a year of working towards this i may have screwd it up. I'm worried and being waayyy too hard on myself.
I stuck it out and exercised on stationary bike for 60 minutes and am doing a liquid fast for the next day and a half. I'm just hoping it works out....just needed to post and vent...thanks
Oh my? If my surgeon had told me that, I'd be in big trouble. Alhtough over the past six weeks, I have eaten things I shouldn't (due to my my surgery date being six weeks away from my surgeon consult), I have totally gone crazy this week, when they specifically told us to be conscientious about eating right! Monday I had 11 cookies, a candy bar and a pepsi! That's discusting. Yesterday I only had 11 cookies and Long John Silver chicken for dinner! I'm tellin' ya, I'm a basket case. Not so much nervous over the upcoming surgery, as just anxious and unable to control myself.
Thankfully, this will all be over soon!
Hugs!

I feel very fortunate that my surgeon required a two week liquid diet before surgery! You don't have any of that last minute eating like crazy, and I think it gets you more prepared for what's to come after surgery.
Most people will say your not hungry after surgery so that makes it easier, but it's not like that for everyone! I've had a couple days where I've been very hungry feeling. Of course I drink a protein shake and that goes right away.
Wishing you the very best!
Janet
I've had many anxious moments when I ate to feel better. In the moment it seemed to work but later...! Now that I have had the surgery (7/18) I am waiting for that anxiety to happen and I won't be able to eat my way through it. My plan is to walk or talk to someone or - I'll come up with something! Good luck with your surgery and I hope you find some other things to try to help your nervousness!
