Heads Up - Lap pain from gas
Hi,
I'm 8 days post-op, and of those 8 days I have spent 6 in the hospital. I stayed in for 4 days, came home for a day, and then went back in due to extreme cramping from the laprascopic gas. I had no idea gas could cause that much pain!! I felt like one of those aliens fromt the Sigourney Weaver movie was trying to get out of me from somewhere under my ribs! The only thing that helped (other than drugs!) was walking, heat pads and back rubs from my hubby.
My surgery was 6 hours (I also had my gallbladder out) so that might have contributed.

My surgery was on Wednesday and I have been experiencing horrible gas pains as well. I felt like I could explode but some of it is finally passing. Walk, Walk, Walk and Walk. Try to relax and get your fluids in. That seemed to help me a little bit. Also, a cool shower seemed to help me as well (don't know why).
Good Luck!!
hi amy! i agree with you girl. last night i ate egg whites and thought i would die! i had my surgery on the 10th and the cramping from gas was so intense i thought something was twisted! i had it for about 12 hours. finally around 4am i went to sleep. gasx didnt help me a bit.
i hope i never have to experience that again.
