one week post op

Im one week post op now and Im feeling pretty good. the only complaint I have is that Im having this non stop belching. Is anyone having the same thing? What does it mean....Am I drinking to fast? To much? Am I lactose intolerant now???? Its so embarrassing!!1 Please help!!! Mariah

I was like that post op as well. I think it is the gas from surgery releasing itself. Mine went away a little after a week post-op. Hope this helps! Kim

Hi Mariah, my surgery was 1 day after yours. You should be thankful, my gas is going the other way. LOL thankfully my bf and daughter aren't offended. Take care, Ann

Mariah, I'm doing both ends as well: belching and, yeah, the other. I'm also having a problem getting regular. I know it's only 7 days out, but I was miserable and nearly psychotic when I called my dr. Told the nurse--get me relief! 12 hours, 1/2 bottle of milk of mag, and 4 colase pills--not to mention a belly distended like a 10 1/2-month pregnancy--later, my very bad day ended. Nothing as bad as that period, anyway. From what the nurse said, the gas seems to come with the wls package at this point. Think of every belch, as 1/2 pound gone--poof! Are you sleeping in a bed yet? I've been home since 7/15 and have been sleeping on a recliner. I just tried to nap in a bed with pillows in all the strategic places, but the pain in my gut was just too much. My Dr. apparently uses one incision more than the others for lots of purposes during surgery, so needless to say, that sight is a MAJOR OUCH. Let's hang in there. I can already tell my clothes are fitting looser! EL

I am getting weird sounding hiccoughing...... and crazy tones in my tummy! But otherwise feeling great. Now if only I can drink my shakes.......tastes nasty and harder to drink down then with pre op . Can't wait to chew, chew , chew my protein next week Life is good on the losing side! Marleen

All normal stuff, I asked.... sounds like a precussion band has set up shop in there and then the burping is hilarious. Sit and lie at a 25 degree angle whenever you are not walking around. How can you know if you are lactose intolerant, you are not drinking milk yet, are you? ShelleyAnne
