Whooohoooo, I'm on the Losing Side now!
Hi Everyone,
I had the surgery on Monday morning and was released from the Elliott Hospital yesterday afternoon. I can't praise the staff at Elliott Hospital enough, they were very caring and attentive. All is going very well, I'm on the stage two diet and so far ( thank the powers that be!) have not had any issues. I really am not sure that they actually did anything except drug me up and make 6 small scratches on my belly! I expect that before too long there will be a reality check for me, but right now there is no pain (other than when I press directly on the incisions), I'm not hungry at all, but the other side of the coin is that I don't feel full when I do eat. I'm tolerating the food very well, and actually was able to get in 63 grams of protein and 62 ounces of water today! Whooohooo, all is on the right path at this point in time anyway! BTW, I entered the hospital on Monday with 12 prescription medicines for the various comorbidities, I left there yesterday with only 6 to worry about! The down side to this is that I have to crush all the pills, yucky taste, trust me! The next hurdle is getting used to the different pill schedules, although that could change very quickly. Dr Gould wanted me to see my PCP within a week to 10 days to monitor the diabetes, etc since it can change in a short amount of time.
I'll check back with you all soon, but wanted you to know that I came through this and now am on the losing side!
Hugs to everyone, be safe and be happy! - Trudi
