Hi Penelope... I am July 19th too. 7:30 a.m. I am going for my PATs on Friday, followed by the pre-surgery visit with the surgeon, a visit with the nutritionist, a consult with the anesthesiologist and a tour of the bariatric wing of the hospital and a chat with the head nurse there. So Friday is causing me anxiety big time. It is quiet now. I have done all the shopping....probably too much shopping...my pantry is bursting with protein RTD, protein powder, protein, protein, protein...giggle. I have enough sugarfree jello and ice pops to open my own shop, giggle giggle. I organized this like a project at work. From start to finish I had goals and lists for the lists...well, the lists are getting much smaller now and I am getting very anxious. It is hard not to think about this all the time. Thank G-d for this site. I am on here constantly. I did all the shopping for the hospital stuff to day, had my dental checkup and teeth cleaned (figured I would get it out of the way - not due until September). I wrote letters to everybody, purged all my files, did the maintenance on the pc, my house is spotless, the laundry is done and the dog went to the groomer, NOW WHAT???? LMAO.
Seriously though. What PATs did you have? I am having urine test, blood test, chest xray and finally an ultrasound of my legs to look for bloodclots. I do not believe that any of those pre-admission tests will prevent my surgery date from moving forth. The hospital just wants to cover themselves for insurance purposes and requires the tests. After all the evaluations we went to and all the requirements for insurance and the PCP and the surgeon...heck, I saw so many doctors, I now know everything about myself. Even if I did not go for this surgery, for the first time in my life I had the most thorough physical exam ever!! LOL
I am sipping water all day and practicing not gulping it down like usual. I did a test today, out of fear, I am sure, and practiced sipping my shake this morning. I made a 4 oz shake instead of my usual 8 oz shake. I am really confused by all of that. If the new pouch only holds 1.5 - 2.0 oz and it takes 20-30 minutes for it to empty...how long will it take to drink a 4 oz shake? UGH!
Keep posting, I need to keep hearing from you guys.... noone else understands! I appreciate all of you sooooooooooo much! Thanks, ShelleyAnne
I finished my 2 last appointments yesterday. I had my Pre-op, everything is a go! Also, my medical release appoint with my PCP. All I have to do now is call on Tuesday to find out what time my surgery is scheduled and show up on Wednesday. I am very excited, starting to get nervous. I'm eating everything in site, but I plan to liquid diet on Tuesday, they said we just don't eat after midnight, but I want to be cleaned out...if you know what I mean.
Just try and stay positive, I know it seems too good to be true, but I'll be sending good vibes your way and thinking of all my date twins!!!
