Scared and anxious, anyone else?!?
Hi all you July Babes!
I'm having a little of the, "What the heck am I doing to myself?!?!" and "Can I live this way for the rest of my life!?!?" stuff going on. I'm sure I look calm on the outside but inside, YIKES!!!!!!This is doable right?
I am suppose to take pictures of myself pre-op to help with my realization that I'm 328 lbs!! A body image thing. Well I've ignored the outside obese body (probably a self protective thing) although in my head I know how obese I am. I just cannot take the pictures at this point! My surgery is July 6th so I gotta do it soon!
So there you have it...I'm a little freaked out! How are you guys/gals doing?!?
Take care,
Sue
I did the nutrition class and have read things to death! I think at this point it is going to be a trial and error period after surgery. We'll have to get to know our bodies all over again - what we can and cannot tolerate, how to chew, how fast to eat, when to drink, timing of our vitamins and supplements, etc, etc, etc. They talk about it being a re-birth, I think they are right on target with that statement!
Good Luck to you and hang in there!
Sue
Im with you i am more anxious and excited to get it over with and join the losing side of course in my mind i have been wanting to do this for the last 5 years and got serious about it just over a year ago ... so i have had alot of time to process and work on changing my habits i dunno if that makes a diffrence or not but i am ready to go next week july 5th best of luck to alll july babies !!!!! Hey ((((((CRAZY)))))) !!!! Just kiddin!!! You're not crazy, there is such a large spectrum of what a "normal" response is in our situation. And I'm surprised at how frequently my feelings change about having surgery. It's quite a rollercoaster!!!! But I'm hangin on tight for the ride!!!! Good luck to you and congrats on feeling so good about your upcoming surgery!
Take care,
Sue
My surgery is the 11th and each day closer I wonder as well if it is "do-able".
I did do the pre op pics and measurements before starting on my pre op milk shake diet last tuesday - as a incentative for afterwards - as I go down the pathway to my weight loss journey.
Have a safe and speedy recoverly as you follow your journey on the pathway of a healthier life.
Marleen
Hi Marleen,
So you're on a milk shake diet now? Are you doing this on your own or has your surgeon ask you to limit your diet? It certainly does get you in the post op mode and your diet won't be such a hard transition after surgery.Good for you!
Good luck with your surgery as well. Boy o boy are we gonna be something a year from now!! Well I guess we're something now; we'll just be "less than" somethings!
Take care,
Sue
