Glad you are feeling better. I got my drains taken out thursday. You will feel alot better when they come out. I am still wearing my binder too, I find comfort in wearing it. I guess I feel it protects me, after all I have a 3 year old. I have about 6 more surgeries to go haha if doc has his way. Hope each day gets better.

Happy Healing Shellie... I just printed out your 'menu' of Plastic's. Now the trick is getting my insurance to pay for any of that.. I'm working on it..

Thanks for the update Shellie-
I am grappling with the plastic surgery question-- both the cost nd the timing, so it was helpful!

Hi Tim,
Congrats on your surgery!
You mention walking upright .. isn't that a great feeling when you are able to do that???
I just had my inner thighs done. Talk to me before you get that done. It is really taxing and you want to be prepared.

Topic: Recooping from Plastics
Hi all,
I have been a lurker but have faithfully followed everyone for 18 months. Thought I would post my plastics update.
I had my plastics on January 10 - Inner thigh lift, TT, breast aug, lipo on inner knees, outer thighs, hips and flanks and also fat injections in my lips just for fun.
I was really a little suprised at the pain involved. I don't want to scare anyone but it did hurt a little more than I thought it would. Having the thighs and breasts done together made things a little more difficult. The natural thing to do when you can't use your legs is to compensate by using your arms. Well, when you have breast implants you can't use your arms a lot because it hurts your chest. I felt a little confined at first. The TT was really not bad. The worst part was just a really tight muscle at the top of my stomach that wouldn't let me stand up all the way straitght. I had some back pain from hunching. It loosened up after about a week and a half and I can stand straight now. It is healing nicely and I am thrilled to see a flat stomach for the first time since I was a kid. The chest muscles were really sore for about a week but the incisions healed really quickly and the pain deminished quickly. The lipo was strange. At first it didn't seem to hurt a lot. Then a few days later it just itched like crazy. Now all of the sites are bruised and sore to the touch. I am just beginning to be able to lie on my side. The hips and flanks (rib area) are tender to lay on or put any pressure on. Now the thighs ... they are not much fun. I just had a mini inner thigh lift. My incisions go a little below mid-thigh and then make an L shape at my groin area. My surgeon said that 70% of people who have inner thigh lifts experience incisions that come open. He fully prepared me for this .. thank goodness. The first week and a half they were fine. I thought "wow, I will be in that 30% that gets away with no opening". Hmmm .. well .. then mine opened on both sides right at the angle in the "L". One side just opened a little and has pretty much closed and healed. The other side is still open and there is a hole. My surgeon doesn't stitch them back together. He says they will heal from the inside out and eventually close. I am ready for it to close .. NOW! It is painful to sit down and to stand up.
I feel very fortunate to have found a surgeon who is very caring and has a very caring staff. I had trouble with pain management for about the first 48 hours and the staff was right there to answer my questions and get my meds changed. I have run across so many good doctors with uncaring staff and having a good staff really made a difference.
I am happy that it is all over now and will be even happier once I am back to being 100% normal. I think it will have all been worth it.
I know everyone is getting to the PS stage. Please feel free to message me with any questions anytime. I am always happy to give the nitty gritty details!
Good luck all,
Shellie

Hi Sue,
Congrats on your upcoming surgery!!
I am home recooping from mine now. I had inner thigh lift, tummy tuck, breast augmentation, lipo on my inner knees, outter thights, hips and flanks, and fat injections in my lips. I had mine all done at once, too. Everyone kept saying I was crazy to do it all at once but I wanted it all over.
I had a hard time with having the thighs and breasts done together. My chest muscles hurt so bad I couldn't move my arms. My inner thighs made it nearly impossible to move my legs. It seems to be natural to try to compensate for your legs by using your arms and visa versa. When they are both in pain you feel really stuck. I am almost 3 weeks out now and it is much better.
The inner thighs are the worst. My surgeon told me that 70% of people have the incisions open up on the inner thighs. The 1st week or week and a half I was fine and then one of my incisions opened. He doesn't stitch them back together and says they will close and heal on their own from the inside out. I still have a hole in my leg. I hope it closes soon.
It is amazing to look down and see a flat tummy. I went with a full C cup on the breasts and can't believe how perky they are. I think in the end it will all be worth it.
Good luck!

Timmy Boyo I have thinking about you and checking more frequently back here to see how you are doing. I'm so glad to hear that you are okay .. Don't worry about those thighs honey.. Once some lucky woman gets to know you, that flat belly, and sparkling personality she'll be betwixt' those thighs in no time!!!

Topic: more follow ups
Today I saw both the plastic surgeon and the other doctor that repaired my hernias.
Both doctors said I am doing just fine, I was hoping to lose at least one of my drains but the plastic surgeon wants to leave them both in for at least another week. Meanwhile I have been cleared to drive again, my pain levels are pretty good and I'm walking totally upright. Getting in and out of bed and chairs is no problem although it does hurt a little if I stand up for too long. I haven't been taking any vicodin for several days, just tylenol.
The worst thing is the drains and that is just a matter of inconvenience. Still wearing the binder too, probably will need to for several more weeks. I think I am going to move back home from my sisters house tomorrow.
I don't need to see the hernia doctor any more unless there's a problem and I have another appointment to see the plastic surgeon in a week. So it's all good!
Plastic surgeon said I might want to consider a lower body lift in the future. I definitely need to get my inner thighs done.

Cheese nIps! Cauliflower! Potato pancakes!! There wasn't a carb in the world that Hans wouldn't indulge in. The Old Hans.. The one Phillip and Renee didn't know. But this was the new Hans. He had lost a astounding 613 pounds on the little known German nut diet. He was eating nuts like crazy.. like a crazed German in fact. He felt so good standing here on this hill in those pointy patent leather mules he started to yodell. Thats when....
