I had a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and 2 hernias repaired. One at my RNY incision (I had an open surgery) and another in my groin. (OUCH!) I have almost no pain at all now. Just a little where the drains were and a little on my sides from the tummy tuck. I would only call it a 1 or 2 on a scale of 10. Not even taking any pain meds at all.

Congrats to you and Peter on setting a date! So very exciting for both of you. Nothing wrong with having the occasional meltdown either. I'm sure everything will work out just fine. You two are such a cute couple and have a lifetime of happiness ahead of you. Congrats again.

WOO HOO! Doctor pulled my drain tubes today! What a relief. Didn't hurt at all either. I still have to go see him one more time in another week but he seemed to think that would be the last visit needed. I'm still wearing the binder though. He advised me to wear that for at least another week. I also asked him about exercising. I haven't been doing any at all and feel like a total slug. While he told me no lifting still it would be OK for me to start walking again. So it's off to the gym for me to do some light treadmill!

Ya know, if you find a dress you like thats strapless, you can always add spaghetti straps and then have a sheer short capped sleeve added also. I got my dress on clearance for $500.00 but it wound up costing me $400 for alterations!!!!! I had to have it taken in so much. Im still big a size 18, but at least im not a 32 + and 4x anymore. I dont think i look all that bad in my dress. its a halter top, A-line, the color is ivory. It actually flatters my shape, since i have a flabby tire around my stomach, it covers it up. What kind of dress are you looking for? You said "non-traditonal", so im curious at what styles your looking at. Im also being wed at the reception site...me and my fiance are not religious at all, so a friend of ours is marrying us too .

We're not doing this at a church-- We're going to be wed at the reception site by a friend of the family who is a judge. Given that I'm Jewish and Peter is Catholic (or at least we were raised that way), it makes more sense. We plan on staying in NYC for the time being. Do you know I grew up in Yonkers, and my parents still live there?

No- That is the focus for this weekend. Appts. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at different places. I don't want a traditional wedding dress, and I don't want my arms to be showing (yuck) AND I don't want to spend a lot of money. Maybe I will wear a tshirt and jeans . Ick, not looking forward to this.
