Check this list out and make sure your dog and/or cat food is not on this list. Apparently, these foods are recalled because some of them are causing liver and kidney failures amongst a mess of other health problems among animals.
Luckily, Im in good shape. (good thing, since i have to pay $27.00 a bag for my cat food!...I'd hate to have to throw it out!)

Katrina,
Sounds like you're right on schedule to me. After a year the WL does slow down, but as long as you've made those life changes, you'll continue to be successful.
If you are spending a lot of time at the gym, I've learned that switching up your excersise plan can jump start the WL again. Your body tends to get used to what you are doing and it stops losing as quickly. I know people who would spend hours in the gym every day and lost SO slowly. Remember too that muscle weighs more than fat! Anyway, change up your excersise routine a bit, always eat protein first, and you'll be just fine!
When I hit my final stall, I ate fish everyday for lunch. Woke up one day 20 pounds lighter! It was literally almost overnight! So... I still eat a lot of fish because it worked so well for me in the final stages.

ps... many of us lurked on the july 04 board for the very reason you have posted here. I remember those days! We always compared ourselve to those a year further than we were to see if we were "normal".
Come back anytime!

Oh yeah! Shoes are my new fettish! LOL I still can't walk in a really high heel, but I've enjoyed wearing heels every Sunday after the first 75 pounds came off! LOL I just love feeling "grown up" and sexy!
I'm the music director, so I am in front of everyone every Sunday... especially my backside... and someone actually told me that I had the best legs in the church!
I love being a lady again!
Keep working at it... it's so worth it!

Ok, it's not that kind of a girl only question.......
I was reading Mo's "I spy" post and she said where did I put those red heels..... or something to that effect, and it made me think of the other day I was shoe shopping with a girl friend and she told me that I needed to buy some heels. I think her words were "some sexy shoes". Now at 350+ pounds for years you know all I ever wore were flats. (Clogs , lots of slip ons.) So I tried some on and I do like them, but I find I have to learn how to walk in them! I about broke my neck the first time I wore them. So my question is this , am I the only one who is a new duckling learning to be a grown up when it comes to heels or is this normal for someone who has never worn heels at all? Any body else out there trying new sexy shoes for the first time??

Hi Katrina! Congratulations on your weight loss. I read that you have lost 100+ since your highest weight and your not even a year out yet. You are very successful. Seriously, you are! Be proud of your self. We all lose at different rates and stalls are so normal for everyone. But they are a real bummer aren't they? I started at 388 now weigh 186 but am a size 10 and med top where I was a size 32-4X before surgery. I continued to lose until about 17 Months out and then have leveled off. I do my eliptical glider about 3-4 times a week, and keep up the protein, vitamins, don't drink after meals for at least 30 minutes, etc. I worry about re-gain but not excessively. I think you will keep losing for a good while just might come in spurts! I still do a protein drink or shake each day and try to have protein first at every meal. Hope this helps in some way and feel free to lurk here with us anytime.

Lauren, thank you for the input. I read your profile and your pictures are amazing! You look fabulous! (Seriously if you have never peeked at Lauren's profile, check it out! ) so now I am going to be nosy, after reading your story and you left me hanging with the wedding dress photo, did you already get married? (I loved the dress! and the little black dress too! I wish my arms looked as good as yours!)

I started at 283 and today I'm 168. From a size 28 to 8-10 and a 3XL shirt to M-L 12-14.
I don't remember when I hit goal, but I have been sitting here at the same weight now for about 3-4 months.
Excerise what's that? I walk and that's about all and it's not everyday.

Most of mine are similar, if not the same, to others that have been posted.
-No drinking 30 minutes before or after a meal
-No carbonated drinks (in fact I literally can't remember the last time I drank anything other than water)
-No pasta
-No soft bread (I may eat the hard crust off a piece of bread while out at a restaurant, but that's it)
-I don't deny myself anything. If I want cake, I have a few bites. If I want chips, I eat a few. The key is not going out of control. The rest of the bag will be there tomorrow and the next day.

Hey all I was just lurking here on the board. I have a question for you all.. I had surgery in July 2006. I guess I'm having those normal "am I failing" fears. My question is what was your starting weight and what is your weight currently? I just got off of a stall from 224 finally at 211. And again I am at a stall. I fear I won't make it to my goal. I know I shouldn't rely on numbers because I am a lot healthier but I guess we put a lot of extra pressure on ourselves based upon that number.. that magic number.
How long did it take you all to get to goal?
What is your exercise like now beyond 18 months out?
If anyone of you have a meal plan you could share with me that would be amazing.
I would like to hear from each and everyone of you.
Thanks again,
Katrina
